Very challenging trail, rocky, wet and slippery. There are sections that you have to scale up the rocks and transverse along ropes and chains. Steep in most of the sections. Not for the faint-hearted, requires training and stamina. Started at Kaigu Lodge at 4km mark up to 9km mark at the true peak at elevation of 3092m above sea level. Started trekking at 2AM in the morning and reach the peak at 6AM. Read moreSo far the most beautiful trail I've experienced in Taiwan! Fairly easily accessible with easy-to-intermediate level of difficulty. The climate and flora is quite different from the central / northern mountains, which makes it a must visit even if you hiked plenty high mountains. The camping site is also beautiful with great opportunity to see the sunset (if you're lucky with the clouds)
Once you enter the high part of the moutain, the trees will take your breath away. And make sure to hike at night, the sea of clounds under the moonlight...
