Since the moment we arrived to Ndovu, we knew we were in a very special place. Of course, the camp is gorgeous, our tent magnificent, and the landscape and wildlife incomparable. But… it is the entire staff who makes this camp so incredibly magical. From the moment HB (the camp’s manager) gave us a brief orientation, we knew that we would be well taken care of. His wonderful energy and enthusiasm makes him a great leader of his team. Michael (our server) was delightful and always made us smile with his wonderful personality. Eric and Ibrahim (the chefs) prepared exceptional cuisine which is mind-boggling given the camp’s remote location. Vincent (a camp’s intern/assistant) was incredibly personable and always attentive to our needs. Edward (a camp’s assistant) with his great energy and amazing smile made us always feel special. Ikra (one of the camp’s guards) was always kind, fun, and most importantly kept us safe. Abdul, Abbas, and Godlove were always making sure the camp was impeccably maintained and the guest cared for. And last but not least, Mape (another one of the camp’s guards) was very helpful, interesting, and always making sure we learned more about the surroundings and wildlife.

As if all of the above was not enough, we were incredibly surprised and moved to tears by the way the entire group celebrated our anniversary by surprising us with a beautiful local song, a spectacular dance, and an absolutely delicious home made cake to honor our relationship. This experience opened our eyes, minds, and hearts to the beauty, spirit, generosity, and warmth of Tanzanians which made us fall in love with the country.

If you’re looking for the real local experience, in an absolutely beautiful setting and with the best service the Tarangire has to offer, look no further. Ndovu Tented Camp is everything you never knew...

Unfortunately we stayed only one night at the Ndovu camp in Tarangire. However it was a fantastic experience. Already that very warm welcome by nearly all the staff while arriving from a busy day full of game watching, bumpy roads and beautiful nature was stunning. In the midst of the bush, @Nasikia Camps have created a luxury full service hotel. Tent is a mild understatement for those large suites with dressing area, hot shower and all the amenities you need. A lovely lounge, great three course menu, solid wine list and a relaxing pool round it all up. What really stunned me is their examplatory morning service. As we had to get up around 5am for a balloon ride, staff proactively offered lunch boxes and a wake up call, accompanied by freshly brewed coffee!!! Imagine; at 5 in the morning in the bush the waiter has to walk some 100 meters, equipped with a flashlight, balancing two coffees and watching out for all those individuals, calling the bush their home... I can highly recommend that camp, as I also recommend Tarangire National Park as a serious alternative to...

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Ndovo Tented Lodge. This was probably a longer than average stay here but meant we were able to have plenty of time to explore Tarangire and watch the birds as well as spot the animals. As we had more time we went out for 6 hours in the morning and then came back for lunch, a relaxing swim in the pool and a cup of tea before going out again when it was cooler and the animals more active again. Had we wanted to, we could have had a packed lunch instead. The staff were very friendly and helpful here and we enjoyed all our meals. The tents are very spacious with a lovely decking area looking out on to the park. With no boundary we saw elephants walk past the swimming pool, heard the lions and elephants at night and watched dikdiks grazing from our tent. No worries about safety- after dark you are walked back to your tent. It all just added to the adventure. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and will always have fond memories...

Beautiful lodge that my husband and I enjoyed during our visit in Tarangire national park. The experience to be in a real tent in the middle of nature was very special and we enjoyed the surroundings. It has a pool open for use from 7am to 7pm and a chill-out area that I encourage all to spend some time around. The food was really good, we tried some local meals too and the staff were very nice to us: the welcomed us in the afternoon, helped with our luggage and walked us safely to the room. As a downside I’d mention WiFi connection is poor and it is only available in the main area. Plus hot water is not available in the morning, it didn’t impact us as we shower in the night but important to bear in mind If you like to shower in the morning.
