Read moreThe Reserve is ran by Tanzanian Forest Service. The park offers a number of attractions that are unmatched compared to Pugu. Our experience was both good and bad.
Let me start with the bad and end with what I liked. When we arrived at the gate the guard was sleeping on a bench on the south side of the fence. When he saw rudely barked at us to come to him. He then interrogates us as if we were somehow unwelcome. We told him we are tourists thatâs when he began to speak to us with decency. He was wearing a TFS shirt and represents the organization. He needs training. The toilets had not water which was a bummer.
The reception staff was great and had useful information for us. The concessions kiosk was a nice lady called Mama Evans. She was lovely and the prices for bottle of water was the same as on the street. We were given two student guides to take us on the hike. As students, they didnât have much knowledge a out the forest, which shows they were not trained for it. One of the guides kept saying misinformation about science and testing on plants and animals.
The Forest is lovely especially the creeks and lake. Its lovely though the park infrastructure was crumbling and neglected, which is sad. The park has alot of potential. It offers better attractions than Pande Game Reserve for sure. I will...
Read moreIt's fine for one time visit! There is not much attractions! Only 2 places are there one is lake side and another bridge, First off all. You have to pay entrance. If you are not citizen it will be more expensive for you. They have only 2 categories. 1.local (2k) 2. Residents or foreigner (23k). See the difference. Anyway I have to tell you for 23k it will not worth you. I listed it before. Then if paid whatever then first you will go to the lake side. There you will get boat or cayake. Again you have to pay 3k per person for it! (but its worth for you! They didn't mention the time. We just returned after we tiered. Anyway our guide also pursued with another cayake and took our pictures. It was quite amazing, After he brought us to one bridge. It was also beautiful, took some pictures! That's it,...
