Ok lets look at the pluses: bite rate was 1 cast 1 fish, all hits were patin or mekong. Their fight was overall decent but they had no chance against the house tackle.
Very nice environment, went down on a morning and I was alone so super peaceful. Didn't order but it seems like they had good selection of food and drinks.
Ok now for the downs. The overall care for equipment was quite lacking - my net has a gaping hole in it meaning the fish went through with my line still on - risking a broken rod. the hook given to me was barbed (I debarbed as a standard practise for cnr ponds). Lastly the plier to unhook the fish was too short as most of my cats had the hook super deep.
Lastly and most imptly, I didn't feel welcomed at all. It was almost like I was begging to use the pond. All requests above was met with loud responses, rude Nos. Maybe the lady owner had a bad day, but I left after 2 hours, just couldn't take it.
P.s bring enough thb for the deposit and I'd recommend just getting a guide. The baiting, landing are a job on its own and you can...
Read moreThe fishing here is ridiculously easy. So much so that once the novelty of your bait being fought over by every fish within 20 meters....yes, you can see them comming...anything under 20kg became a pest. I did spend 2 1/2 days there and used my own tackle so it was 300 thb ( £8.50 ) for 8 hours of constant arm wrenching exercise. Smallest catfish are around 6kg ( 12lbs ) but the majority are around the 12 - 15kg mark ( 25- 35lb ). Had at least 10 fish 50lb or slightly above but none of the really big ones 50kg the owner says are in here. On a lighter rod than the heavy gear they rent out its a challenge but don't skimp on the line or the reel size or it's hard work and lost fish. Take your own large and very strong landing net, theirs are not big enough for 50 lb fish. I recommend this good sized lake at which I never saw more than 8 other anglers at the same time, and on one of my full days there were just 4 of us. It was...
Read moreHad a great time fishing there. My partner is the one that likes to fish and normally I would be the one taking photos, yet I ended up having a much better time then I thought. Mío was our angler / tour guide. I seriously remember trying to book the day with him, experienced or not in fishing. He was such a great help, brought and sorted out all the fishing rods and bait for us (there was 4 of us in our group), recommend the one called 'Birthday cake', he is such a great character, very funny and bubbly. The park is very beautiful and filled with some excellent size fish to catch, which we did none stop, there were even times that you didn't even get the chance to put your rod down and you had a bite. We will be back there next time we are...
