La Lanna resort is highly recommended stay when visiting Thailand. It is a paradise, a hidden gem (DIAMOND), and in terms of comfort, it's home away from home.
My wife and I stayed for two nights, and trust me, we are again coming back soon. The welcome drink or the golf carts are just some little elements that add to your royal surprise, but some of the key things that you must remember are as follows:
A. When taking a cab from Chiang Mai, try reaching the resort during the daylight. As the resort is in the forest, it might be a little overwhelming when travelling in the dark. The drive can be hectic, but it's all worth it towards the end.
B. When you begin your journey to the resort, you can request over email for their WhatsApp number, the team is super quick in their response and the messaging app is very useful during your stay too as there is no mobile network or intercoms, and everything is coordinated over WhatsApp. The Wi-Fi is super efficient, and you get coverage with the resort's different Wi-Fi networks all around the property.
C. Ask for car bookings and other activities, etc, such as to visit the nearby village market and waterfalls on your first day with the crew. They will help you in organising things in advance. This way, you are certain about your plans and will have added experience during your stay.
D. If you have special dietary requirements, do also mention in advance that the crew tries to offer in their best capacity to your taste and palate.
E. If you are not pro with the local language, the Google translator is very handy.
Remember, you are in the middle of this scenic beauty and in another world. Make sure to absorb the quietness and the music of nature.
However, besides the beauty of the nature that you will be in awe with, the crew members who actually are the real jewel of this resort.
Starting from Hom, who is at the front desk to greet you and brief you about every tiny detail that comes handy during your stay. She has a unique quality to connect with guests and offer them the maximum extent of comfort during your stay. Personal touch is her middle name. Her husband, Nipon, who is a magical chef, offers the best on your table.
Bonus is another star member of the A+ team who is professional and swift in her response as well as commitments. Just like her name, she's an added bonus with all that you are offered during your stay.
Last but most importantly, Kim, she indeed the brilliance of the diamond. Once you put the requirements, she ensures to make it happen. Her hospitality makes you block your calendar for the next stay at La Lanna, that too for a longer period. Some of our friends too have planned a holiday just by hearing our experience here. And yet again, it's needless to mention, like her name, Kim, makes your stay as royal as possible.
The other support staff, including Oscar and Newnew, are certainly the backbone and assist the management to achieve their goals in making the stay worthwhile for all the guests.
Well, that's all for now, rest you should find yourself upon your visit. Don't hesitate to mention this recommendation by "M&S" if you were persuaded in booking your stay at La Lanna. You may get some special treatment that was unexpected 😉
Happy holidays!

Read moreMy partner and I originally stopped by La Lanna just for a late lunch after getting caught in heavy rain during a mountain ride. From the moment we arrived, soaked and cold, we were met with incredible warmth and hospitality. A staff member greeted us with an umbrella, and once seated in the restaurant, we were given towels to dry off and they kindly turned off a fan to make us more comfortable. That genuine care made such an impression, we decided to turn our quick stop into an unplanned overnight stay.
We stayed in the caravan room, which was beautiful, super clean, peaceful, and surrounded by lush nature right along a quiet river. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the reading corner. The outdoor bath was a standout feature, and the entire setting made for the perfect last-minute escape. They even provided phone chargers when we mentioned we hadn’t packed anything, and the welcome drinks were a refreshing touch.
Service throughout was exceptional. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and attentive. A golf cart took us to and from reception, and communication during our stay was seamless thanks to their use of WhatsApp. It made everything, from check-in to meal orders, so smooth and easy. We ordered our dinner and breakfast in advance via WhatsApp, and by the time we arrived at the restaurant, the table was set the food was ready. The WiFi was also impressively fast, which we didn’t expect in such a serene, nature-filled setting.
The food was consistently excellent. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast at the resort and enjoyed every bite. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight, the rice congee with assorted dishes and meat skewers were especially delicious, and my partner really enjoyed his Khao Soi. Coffee (hot cappuccino) was really good too, the roast was perfect, it was smooth, not bitter.
What started as a rainy detour turned into one of our most memorable mountain trips. Huge thanks to all the staff at La Lanna for looking...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to stay at a private villa. Overall, I would describe the experience as simply “decent”, but I was quite disappointed with the lack of attention to detail in several aspects. If I were to rate it like a hotel, I’d say it was 5 stars for the location, but only 2 stars for the service and accommodation.
In short: stunning view, but unimpressive stay. Not worth the money, and I definitely won’t return.
Pros Great location with stunning views and a very nice, private vibe Comfortable bed and well-designed bathroom The golf cart driver and the staff who helped with the projector were both very kind and helpful Breakfast was good and tasty
Cons Overall service and maintenance were poor. The place felt too rundown to be acceptable. • The bathtub couldn’t be used because it was missing the drain plug • The walkway to the villa was neglected • Inside the villa, there was an overwhelming amount of dust, especially around the bed area — it felt like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. I had allergic reactions all night. Lack of essential information provided beforehand • The villa is really far and requires a long golf cart ride, which made carrying luggage quite difficult — this should have been mentioned clearly in advance. • When it rains, items and shoes left near the front of the sleep pod get completely soaked — even under the roof — due to severe leaks. My sneakers were drenched and unusable. There should have been a warning about this. • The BBQ set priced at 690 THB felt like a major rip-off and absolutely not worth the price. The projector – a supposed highlight – became a mood killer It completely disrupted the atmosphere and wasted a lot of time. Instead of enjoying the moment, we had to spend hours setting up the equipment. This should have been pre-set properly to align with the screen, rather than requiring staff...
