This is a very local market which sees very few foreigners and tourists as it is far from the usual places of attractions. There are many stalls that sell a wide variety of items ranging from clothes, shoes, household and farming equipment, amulets, and even songs on thumb drives.
The most unique feature of this market has got to be the buffaloes. You can find an area where buffaloes are sold to those who need them to farm the land or perhaps to save a life or two to make merit. Other animals on sale here include farm animals such as chicks, chickens, ducks, and geese. Oh, there are also rhinoceros beetles and fighting cocks for sale. These are some things that you don't get to see on offer at other local markets. Near the entrance there is also a shop selling pet fish and potted plants. So if you are interested in finding a fishy friend, or getting some ornamental or even miniature plants to decorate your house, this will be your go-to place.
And if you are hungry, there are a few stalls that sell local Thai food as well as drinks. One stall sells a unique type of coffee added with an egg. Something different from your everyday morning drink. Across the road, you can find make-shift stalls selling fruits and other stuff.
Many vendors will start to pack up around 11am+, so come early and you can shop more leisurely.
If you are coming here, you will either need your own transport or get a Grab/Bolt. It takes about 35 - 40 minutes to come here from Chiang Mai City. There might be Songtaews plying this route but I am not sure. Perhaps the yellow Songtaews may come this way as they will go to Thung Sieow which is another 10 minutes after passing by...
