Tokyo has their Tsukiji market, good people of Ayudhaya have their Central Farmers' Market. This is where you can get fresh river prawns, live or have them cooked for you. The prawns you get here are fresh, or more accurately, alive! But I find that their sizes tend to be on the medium to small ones. If you are not too fuzzy about the sizes, you can rest assured that these prawns will still be very tasty when grilled and served together tasty spicy sauce.
The best part of these grilled river prawns are the yellow or orange gooey stuff in their heads. Putting a little bit of this stuff on your hot rice, and add some spicy sauce on top and you get a heavenly bite.
