Hate to leave a bad review, but if you value your skin, avoid at all cost.
I got the full body mud treatment with a mineral bath (700 TBH). First, the mud is applied to you with brushes while you stand out on a terrace, which is not private. The mud smelt strongly of mosquito repellent so that's probably mixed in. Then, you need to stand around awkwardly on the same terrace waiting for the mud to dry. Next, you get a bath with a coffee scrub. This sounds nice, but it's done while you sit on a plastic stool in a cubicle resembling a public bathroom.
After this, you get 15 minutes in a lukewarm mineral bath, in another cubicle. You could add more hot water yourself, but this would take up most of your assigned 15 minutes.
Finally, it's facial treatment time. They use strongly scented products, which made me start itching right away.
The whole thing took 1h. At no point do you get to take a shower, not before the mud application nor after the mineral bath.
I couldn't wait to get back to my accomodation to take a shower and wash it all off. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but my face is red and feels like it's on fire as I write this a few hours later.
The only silver lining is that I did this on my way back from Ban Rak Thai and not before, because it would have ruined my day.
The 2 ladies were very nice and kind to me, so I do feel bad about having to write this review. They do offer just massage and mineral bath, so maybe that's worth doing.
P.S. I don't know what kind of treatment people in the photos who got a private outdoor jacuzzi with the view of the field got, but I can confirm that the whole body mud spa is definitely not it.]
P.P.S. For comparison, hot springs in the Chiang Mai area usually cost from 0-300 TBH. A private bath in the hot springs is almost universally 50 TBH, and you either get an hour or unlimited time. If you're looking for a hot spring,...
