We had an amazing time at Koh Khai Nok, a stunning little island just a 15-minute speedboat ride from Phuket. This place is like a paradise postcard with its powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant marine life.
ποΈ What I Loved
β Breathtaking Views β The contrast of the blue sky, emerald waters, and soft sand was simply mesmerizing. Itβs a perfect Instagram-worthy location. β Snorkeling Experience β The shallow waters around the island were full of colorful fish, and I spotted some beautiful coral reefs. β Relaxing Beach Vibes β Plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas to just chill, soak up the sun, and sip on fresh coconut water. β Convenient Facilities β Small bars and eateries on the island serve fresh seafood, coconut drinks, and chilled beer.
β³ Things to Keep in Mind
β Can Get Crowded β Since itβs a popular tourist spot, expect a good number of visitors, especially in the afternoon. If you want a quieter experience, try to arrive early in the morning. β Be Mindful of Marine Life β Feeding the fish is not allowed to protect the ecosystem, and stepping on corals should be avoided. β Prices Are Higher β As expected on a small island, food and drinks are a bit pricey, so bringing some snacks and water might be a good idea.
ποΈ Travel Tip
I booked a half-day tour, which included a speedboat transfer, snorkeling gear, and refreshments. It was totally worth it! If you love the sea, sun, and snorkeling, this place should definitely be on your Phuket itinerary.
Would I visit again? Absolutely! πποΈ

Koh Khai Nok is undeniably stunning β powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and plenty of colorful fish make snorkeling right off the beach an incredible experience. Renting a sunbed set for just 150 THB seems like a fair deal, and at first glance, this place looks like a dream.
However, the reality is far from peaceful. The island is small, and at any given time, more than ten boats arrive, turning the picturesque shoreline into a chaotic parking lot. Tourists quickly realize that the only spot left for swimming is between the rocks. I canβt understand why the boats donβt just drop off passengers and return at a designated time, as they do at the Similan Islands. This overcrowding completely ruins the charm of the island.
Another major downside is that during high tide, the beach becomes incredibly narrow, making it even more crowded. To make matters worse, I couldnβt find a single trash bin on the entire island, which means the sand is littered with all sorts of garbage.
If youβre looking for a peaceful, untouched paradise, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. It has so much potential, but unfortunately, mass tourism has taken...
