Laem Phak Bia Environment Research Development Project — Local services in Phetchaburi Province

The Laem Phak Bia Royal Project is located in Phetchaburi province. H.M. King Bhumibhol Adulyadej initiated the project to treat both wastewater and solid waste through environmentally and ecologically sustainable methods. Furthermore, local people use the area to grow the plants for wastewater filtration and to fish in the regenerated mangrove forest area.There are three methods of wastewater treatments which are: 1.Oxidation pond 2.Constructed wetland 3.Mangrove forest which filtrates wastewater from the municipality of Phetchaburi is transferred to the site by a pipeline. In the past, the area of the project was set to be the location of Silpakorn University, Phetchaburi Campus. However, people who lived in this area did not move out from the area. As a result, the university had to be built in Cha-Am district instead. Moreover, the project had a problem with the location and, therefore, it was moved to this area instead. Here, tourists will see the sesuvium portulacastrum around the mangrove forest. There is a 300-metre route through the mangrove forest where you will find mangroves, A. Marina Vierh, meder's mangrove crab, mudskippers, ghost crabs and varieties of birds , i.e. common sandpiper, wagtail and little egret along the way. This area is regarded as top ten bird watching locations of Thailand. You can also see a 3 km. sand-spit that separates clay beach...

Laem Phak Bia Research Project is an interesting spot to spend a couple of hours. This is one of the projects that was under the initiative of late King Rama IX. The project utilizes natural methods to manage and treat the waste and waste water from Phetchaburi province. It also incorporates a visit to a mangrove forest with a walk out to the bay through the mangroves along a boardwalk (around 800 metres) It’s not crowded with tourists, there is plenty of parking and entry is free. They have a small shuttle bus every half hour or you can hire a bicycle (20baht for 3 hrs) to explore the Project. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a good coffee also a few other shops and the area has plenty of great seafood...

โครงการพระราชดำริฯ แหลมผักเบี้ย จุดเด่นที่นี่คือ สะพานศึกษาธรรมชาติป่าชายเลน เข้าทางประตูลานจอดรถที่มีป้าย ลานพ่อหลวงนะครับจะอยู่ติดวัดสมุทรโคดม ตอนขับรถเข้ามาทางซอยวัดที่มีป้ายร้านอาหารปูเป็น2 และร้านกินปูดูวาฬ ผ่านร้านปูเป็น2 และวัดสมุทรโคดมแล้วลานจะอยู่ทางขวามือ ติดกับวัดเลยครับ พอเห็นลานโล่ง ๆ ขับเข้ามาทางป้าย ลานพ่อหลวง ได้เลยครับ หาที่จอดรถ ลงทะเบียนตรงป้อมยาม แล้วเข้ามาด้านในได้เลยครับ

เดินเข้ามาด้านในผ่านร้านของฝาก หน้าอาคาร learning center ด้านในจะมีรถคนใหญ่จอดอยู่..นั่งรอตรงที่นั่งใต้อาคารได้เลย ที่โครงการมีรถพาชมโครงการวิ่งวนทุก ๆ 30 นาที หรือใครจะเช่าจักรยานก็ติดต่อด้านนอกได้เลยครับ

ถ้ามาตอนกลางวัน อากาศจะร้อนมากครับ แนะนำให้มาช่วงเย็นหรือช่วงเช้า ๆ โครงการมี 'ร่ม' ☂️ ให้ยืมด้วยนะครับ หยิบได้ตรงที่นั่งรอรถเลยครับ ร้อนแน่ครับ 🔥

รถจะวิ่งพาชมโครงการพร้อมเสียงอธิบาย ว่าโครงการจะวิจัยการบำบัดน้ำเสียด้วยวิธีธรรมชาติ ผ่านบ่อบำบัดหลายขั้นตอน หลายแบบ ขาใหญ่ของเราช่วงนี้นกกาน้ำเล็ก นกยาง นกกระแตแต้แว้ด นกนางแอ่น ที่คอยมากินปลาและอื่น ๆ ในบ่อ ตอนรถวิ่งลมเย็นหายร้อนเลยครับ 555

ปลายทางคือสะพานศึกษาธรรมชาติป่าชายเลน รถจะจอดให้ลง และรถจะมีวนมารับทุก ๆ 30 นาที สะพานสภาพดูใหม่ครับ เดินสบาย แนะนำควรหยิบร่มมาด้วยอย่างยิ่งครับ เพราะร้อนมาก 555 สะพานยาวไปถึงชายหาดเลน ระยะทางประมาณ 800 เมตร ไปกลับก็ 😅💦 เหงื่อตกครับ สะพานไม้เพิ่งทำใหม่สวย แข็งแรง และเรียบร้อยมากครับ

ตลอดทางจะมีป้ายแนะนำและบอกความรู้เกี่ยวกับป่าชายเลน สิ่งมีชีวิตในป่าชายเลน อย่าง ปู ปลาตีน นก และอื่น ๆ

สามารถมองหา 'ปูก้ามดาบ' 🦀 ได้ตลอดทางเดิน ส่วนปลาตีน มองหาได้ช่วงกลาง ๆ ที่มีน้ำทะเลขังอยู่ตามพื้น และหอยเจดีย์จะอยู่ช่วงปลายของทางเดินนะครับ

ตลอดทางเดินจะสังเกตเห็นนกชายเลนอย่างนกยางกรอก นกกินเปี้ยวได้

ถ้าเงียบ ๆ หน่อยจะได้ยินเสียงดีดดัง 'เปาะ!!' อยู่ตลอดทางเดิน เป็นเสียงของกุ้งดีดขัน 🦞 ที่ดีดก้ามให้เกิดเสียงดังครับ ถ้าเราดีดนิ้ว กุ้งจะดีดตอบด้วยนะครับลองดูได้ครับ

ตอนช่วงกลางของจะมีหอสูงให้ขึ้นไปดูวิวด้านบนของป่าชายเลนด้วยครับ ถ้าใครเคยไปบางกระเจ้า หอจะคล้ายกันเลยครับ

ตอนปลายสุดของทางเดินจะมีศาลาให้นั่งพักเหนื่อยรับลมทะเลเย็น ๆ ครับ

พอหายเหนื่อยแล้วค่อยเดินกลับครับ แล้งรอรถมารับครับ
