This was our first golf outing for Hua Hin trip. The course was well maintained and the fairways were generous. As a friendly course and relatively flat, we decided to walk the full 18 holes, supported by caddies.
Overall, our golfing experience was good except the caddies could be better trained and reminded to be more professional. My caddy was constantly looking at her phone instead of observing my shots. I got so frustrated that I had to threaten her that I would call the caddy master if she didn't stop focusing on her phone. Her reading of putting lines were so so that I had to take over the reading myself. In fact she was so half hearted, perhaps because she had to walk instead of riding on a cart. This is not the standard of caddies that I had experienced in my 20 years of Thailand golfing trips. The caddy master may want to focus on training the caddies on reading of line and to better understand the golfers' requirements. At least two out of the four caddies were observed to be focus and knowledgeable.
Caddy aside, the course provided a good start for our golf trip as I selected Palms Hill because it was easy for all of us to enjoy the outing. In the sweltering heat of about 34 or 35 degrees, it was a miracle that we managed to complete the course in good stead. As an organiser, I overlook the weather factor. Anyway, there were many golfers that walk too.
We had lunch at the golfer's tavern and the food did not disappoint us. We shared various dishes and had a few Chang beers to cool our heated body. The fried chicken was outstanding. When I was making payment, the cashier gave me 200 baht short. I assumed it was a honest mistake and did not make a fuss out of it with the management.
OVERALL, we graded Palms Hill to be about 4.5 star. Thank you for giving us a...

Actually pretty quick from above the hole. Greens rolled very true and fairway lies were fine. Palm has slightly wider fairways and makes for a more enjoyable and...
ย ย ย Read moreGolf was spoiled by caddies rushing to finish round. I have never had to complain about pace of play being too fast before - but this was our reaction after playing Palm Hills in Feb'23. The caddies were rushing us on every shot to the point that we did not have time to take in the course. We completed the course as a fourball in 3 hrs and 20 minutes. Impressive - but not enjoyable. We were playing early and there was a 3 ball behind us so I understand that the staff wanted us to move at a good pace - but this was too much and it ruined the day for us. Better to let the 3 ball play through! Management should give caddies a reasonable target to complete a round - maybe 4 hrs or 4 hrs 15 mins for a 4 ball - not 3 hrs and 20 mins! Can't comment on the condition of the course - I didn't have time to notice it - and, needless to say, I won't be adding any phots as there wasn't time...
