Wat Takien Floating Market is located in Tambon Bang Khu Wiang, Amphoe Bang Kruai, Chang Wat Nonthaburi 11130 ( Nonthaburi is adjacent to Bangkok ), a part of Wat Takien. This place is on the westhern side of Bangkok, 20 kilometers from Mo Chit Bus Station ( Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, exactly back side of Chatuchak Park near Chatuchak Weekend Market ), 30 kilometers from Don Mueang International Airport ( Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Sikan, Don Mueang, Bangkok 10210 ), via Rama 5 bridge. Visitors who are fond of taking beautiful sceneries of Chao Phraya River, easy access by express boat to " Pibul 2 " ( exit at pier 29 or pier 30 ) and further your trip with taxi to " Wat Takien " before the outer ring road ( Taling Chan - Bang Bua Thong High Way ), I do not recommend for foreigner tourists in particular because it is a bit complicate. Formerly, Bang Ku Wiang Floating Market nearby, due to the road constructed widely, expand to every areas of Bangkok, with this modernization transportation resulting to people ' s easy access by car which is more convenient and faster. The traditional floating market tourism become popular, growing trend present day to revive some of the old markets, local community revived the floating market to be a part of Wat takien called " Wat Takien Floating Market ". The old days, people in Thailand lived nearby rivers, Khlong ( canals ), they not only use water for their daily life but also for transportation and their life depended upon temples for their religion activities, as of such floating market happened every local communities and unavoidably the temples where monks play major role to be established. At first site from parking lot, visitors will see huge tiger's head at the doorway and more figures of dragons, tigers and dinosaurs appear ( I have no idea if these figures involve Buddhism,Bramanism and Hindu influence Thailand very long time, cause the slipping of Buddhism ' s belief since Buddhism is based on Lord Buddha 's doctrines ). The mini floating market is adjacent to Wat Takien temple where foods, vegetables and fruits (custard apple, mango, papaya, sweet potato, banana, pineapple, coconut etc. ) are available, sometime local villagers nearby will come by boat, sell duck in sweet sauce, boat noodle, fruits and vegetables. Apart from this floating market, there are many more floating markets details as followed 1: Khlong Lad Mayom Floating Market ( open: Sat. and Sun., during 09.00 a.m.- 03.00 p.m.( 15.00 ), 2: Taling Chan Floating Market, beside Khet Taling Chan Administration Office ( open: Sat. and Sun., during 08.00 a.m.- 05.00 p.m. ( 17.00 ), 3: Song Klong Floating Market at Wat (Temple ) Taling Chan " Klong " someplace refered to "Khlong " because they were written after Thai tongue means " canal ", ( open: Sat. and Sun., during 08.00 a.m.- 04.00 p.m. ( 16.00 ), 4: Wat Phraya Suren Floating Market ( open: Sat.and Sun., during 09.00 a.m.- 04.00 p.m. ( 16.00 ), 5: Wat Saphan Floating Market ( open: Sat., Sun. and festival holiday, during 09.00 a.m.- 03.00 p.m. ( 15.00 ), 6: Sampeng 2 Floating Market ( open: everyday, during 04.00 p.m. ( afternoon )- 10.00 p.m. ( 22.00 ), 7: Kwan- Riam Floating Market ( open: Sat., Sun. and festival holiday adjacent to Sat. and Sun., during 06.00 a.m.-06.00 p.m. ( 18.00 ), apart from the floating market aforementioned there are many more popular floating markets amongst foreigners tourists in particular at the vicinity and nearby Bangkok such as Amphawa, Damnoen Saduok and Lao Tak Lak Floating Market in Chang Wat Ratchaburi, Wat Lam Phraya, Don Wai and Red Lotus Floating Market in Chang Wat Nakhon Pathom, Bang Nam Phaeng Floating Market, Khlong Suan Market ( " Khlong " is canal as aforementioned, written after Google Map to avoid the foreigners tourists' confusion ) in Chang Wat Samut Prakan, Sam Chuk, Kao Hong and Saphan Khong Floating Market in Chang Wat Suphan Buri ( please explore details such as sites, locations, distance and how to reach each place in Google Map since characters may exceed...

Not worth going to unless you're already in the area. The whole market, including the temple, is about the size of a soccer field. Most food places were closed during weekdays, and it was hard to find something to eat, since all the menus were only in Thai. The temple is strange, very cheesy and kitschy. If you're not a local, it's definitely not worth the price of the taxi. Also, it's hard to find a taxi back. We almost got stuck. Luckily, our Grab driver just waited for us without us asking, I think because he was confused about why we wanted to go all the way out there from near Khaosan in the...

Honestly, my friend and I didn’t mean to end up here but we did, and I’m so glad. This soup I’m attaching a photo of, was actually my favorite thing I ate the entire week I was in Thailand. I think we came at a weird time because not a lot was open, but the few things that were open, did not disappoint!! We loved it all. The vibes here were fun too and there was lots of random fun art (like the dogs playing poker). Anyways, I 20/10 recommend getting to this place to eat that dang soup (so...
