This review pertains to only the Spa service within Black Mountain Golf Club.
Our group of over 12 people went on March 9th, 11 of which went for golf at around 1 PM. My sister-in-law opt to go for spa instead of joining us on the course. She went for an approximately 3.5 hours - scrub, aroma, and stone massage. Long story short, when she was preparing to exit the place after her spa, she had realized that the locker she used had been tampered with. Things within the locker were misplaced, the clothes she had left inside the locker were pushed and bundled in a ball at the deep end of the locker, which she had actually folded nicely prior to her spa sesh. Out of suspicion and slight panic, she opened to check on all the belonging that was in her bag. She realized that 12,000 baht cash had been stolen from her purse. We’ve tried to notify the Spa Manager (K’Nui) at which they weren’t in the place that day - on the phone she had mentioned that she was at the hospital. Upon our request to ask the manager to assist us in the situation, the manager not only did not express any responsibility in helping us, but also told us to go figure out the situation ourselves with the police. We were extremely upset at the type of response we were given, especially from a manager. Putting situations in our own hands, we’ve asked to inspect the on-location CCTV with the security worker there, at which they tried to show us the time stamps of people entering and exiting the parameters. We saw 3 posible suspects (who were all workers of the Spa) that entered and exited the locker room during the hours she was getting her spa done. In addition, we find that the CCTV was placed in an awkward angle, on the top left hand corner of the screen where the locker room entrance would be, the camera angle is conveniently partially covered by the hanging lamp from the ceiling (which increased our suspicion to the possibility of a planned agenda by the culprit[s]). We have since, on our own behalf, spoken with the local police for assistance.
After all this, we don’t necessarily need the money back, we just wish we’d be able to find the culprit. No customer should have to go through this sort of situation - let alone experience how poorly managed the place is.
TLDR; We want to strongly advise for everyone to avoid going to the spa. There are definite thieves...
Read more12,000THB (400USD) in cash was STOLEN at Black Mountain Spa.
We went in on Saturday 9th of March 2024, a group of 12, 11 of us golfed, which we spent 49,500THB for the 18-holes, while one of us went to the spa while waiting.
At the apa our friend was FORCED to put her belongings in the spa locker room. When she came back after the treament (3H30M), her locker was not the way she put her things in in the beginning. She checked and 12,000 in cash went missing.
Conveniently, the manager, K Nui, is away at the hospital (the staff gossiped quietly, 'she's probably getting botox or something' (???!?!?)). A staff phoned the manager (after the manager refused to speak to our friend many times) ur friend asked about the spa's procedures when customer's belongings went missing, the manager replied 'We're sure none of our staff would steal anything. If you're not happy, report to the police'.
Originally the staff said the office staff is off as it's on weekend, finally an IT staff take their time to traveled all the way from home on their day off to show our friend the security camera footage (but the manage couldn't come in).
When the IT staff checked the CCTV footage, the chandelier was BLOCKING the view of CUSTOMERS LOCKER ROOM DOORWAY where customers are MADE to put their belongings in.
We saw people went in three times. But on that day our friend was the ONLY customer at the spa, the people that went in are the staff.
The only person that apologized to our friend was the masseuse who massaged her, she even allowed our friend to pat check her right there and then. And big thanks to the IT staff who come in, even though it's their day off.
Do take this into your consideration, the manager did not show any responsibility to the incident and is completely unprofessional.
Additionally, the course was crusty and dry, dead grass, and...
Read moreSix years ago, my wife and I golfed at BM. It was then a competition rated course and my memories still were vivid due to the great experience we had then.
This time round, we were completely shocked with the overall conditions where most part of the fairways were parched by sun. The maintenance staff told us that there was a big shortage of water to maintain the course. Nevertheless, the maintenance staff had tried their level best to keep the greens neat and tidy with constant watering of the greens.
We had four remarkable caddies, perhaps because they are more senior in age and my caddy - Sam Lee had 15 years of experience and this was very visible with the advices she gave and in making all of us being more relaxed to enjoy the game. My wife;s caddy Poa was also fantastic, always trying to help my wife's game that resulted in her scoring well below her handicap by returning with one birdie on the Par 5 and four pars. She and Sam Lee really helped to turn around our games. We were so blessed to be assigned these two great ladies who also joked to keep the atmosphere relaxed. Well done Caddie Master.
The club amenities were also affected by the Covid pandemic and the changing room looked tired. The half way houses offered the most reasonable drinks rate and we would like to commend the Club Management for making an effort to make the beverages more affordable.
We ordered a simple meal of Pad Thai and noodle soup. the pad thai was delicious and my friend who ordered noodle soup felt that the chef had overpowered it with salt.
On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed Black Mountain golf course even when the maintenance had slacken as compared to six years ago. Thank you for giving us a great golfing experience and we left the course with the opinion that we would like to return to this...
