Pros: Course & Caddies
Fantastic golf course, one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the world. The course layout is well thought out and incredibly intricate, given just how much they had to plan for, given it is on a mountain. There are not many water hazards compared to Bangkok, so rest assured you won't lose many balls. Speaking of losing balls, the caddies here are extremely helpful. Lots of tourists here in Samui, and most of the caddies here speak English at a high level. They make an extra effort to make sure you don't have to exert more energy than needed.
Cons: Price & Course Condition
A bit expensive. For men, expect to pay 5100 baht per person. I felt it was worth it nonetheless for the experience you get from playing this course, but then they include 10% service fees for food and drink, eliminating any notion that this is a high-end golf establishment. Food and beverages are expensive and poor in quality, which leaves me feeling the extra charges here and there sour. Course condition is hard to say. Bunkers are rock pits. Some greens and fairways are not bad, and some are. BUT BUNKERS ARE ROCK PITS. I found just a few, and key bunkers defending the greens are pure rock. There is no sand. The caddy advised me just to pick it up and play beside it. Did I mention the bunkers...
Read moreTraveled all the way to Koh Samui, to play at this course, AMAZING place, unfortunately that is the only positive thing about it. You can make reservation, just for fun, 1st day 2 groups on the first tee, ok it happens no problem, 2 day tee off no problems, when we arrive to the 10th tee, they decide to put another group in front of Us without asking or even telling Us, We got upset and stopped playing, went to complain and after 45 minutes got a refund. 3rd and last time, tee time 1:00 pm We get to the tee, there is a 6 some and a 2 some about to tee off, We ask the starter, no answer, so We decided to skip to hole 3. Beautiful place, horrible management skills, We tried to complain but not one pretended to speak English, they told Us to come back tomorrow, 70% of customers speak English. I'm assuming they can do that, this is the only course on the island, and all of this goes without talking about the dual pricing and standards for foreigners and national. 3 rounds 11.700 Thai baths ($340.00) Will never go back to play. Crazy to travel that far to get such of disappointment at that price. Really hope management reads this and...
Read moreBeautiful, very mountainous and partly extremely narrow course. For me - good mid handicapper - the first round was disastrous, but got better and better, knowing the course after a couple of rounds. Be prepared to lose balls, as at most holes fairway not hit means your ball is gone in the jungle, creeks, rocks, partly guarded by cobras. But on a good day you'll enjoy the challenging holes and the stunning views from nearly all holes. Food at the restaurant was excellent (we only tried local Thai dishes but loved it). And the Caddies mostly "professional" and good. Thank you especially Ms. Fon for your excellent and friendly caddiying... During our stay over New Year 2021/22 there was no issue to book tee times as due to Covid there just wer not too many tourists in Samui, even during those holidays. We will play there again! P.S. We were told that some of the greens were under repair and prices wer a bit discounted because of that. But was okay and not too bad. Still quite fast and...
