Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust — Local services in West Coast Division

This sanctuary is a little jewel which, for some reason, doesn’t seem to be that well advertised. It may be that it relies on donations is the reason that it’s understated in excursion brochures and there is no benefit in organising trips for tourism companies? We went there to see how the animal lovers of Gambia are trying to improve the lives of their beasts of burden and frankly, it was an emotional visit and very uplifting. Take a taxi and see the impact Lazarus has had for yourselves; much better than any Monkey Park, long may it continue.
