**Tuz Gölü** (Salt Lake), located near **Şereflikoçhisar** in central Turkey, is one of the largest salt lakes in the world and a natural wonder renowned for its stunning beauty and ecological significance. Situated within the provinces of Ankara, Aksaray, and Konya, the lake spans approximately 1,665 square kilometers. It is a shallow, hypersaline lake, with its water levels varying throughout the year. During the summer months, much of the water evaporates, leaving behind a thick crust of salt that creates a surreal, mirror-like surface. This striking landscape is a magnet for photographers and nature enthusiasts, especially at sunrise and sunset when the reflections of the sky create mesmerizing visuals. The lake is also an important habitat for bird species, particularly flamingos, which breed and feed in its salty waters. Tuz Gölü is recognized as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance, highlighting its ecological value. The town of **Şereflikoçhisar**, located nearby, serves as a convenient gateway to the lake, offering visitors easy access and amenities. Many visitors walk barefoot across the lake's salt flats, an experience often described as therapeutic due to the mineral-rich salt. Additionally, the salt extracted from Tuz Gölü is a key economic resource for Turkey, used in industries ranging from food to cosmetics. Tuz Gölü's unique landscape and tranquil atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a one-of-a-kind natural experience in Turkey.
