Wadi Al Hayl Dam — Local services in Fujairah Emirate

Secluded and hidden behind the hills of the Hajar mountains in Fujairah. This is a sleepy small dam. Although in the summers it is dry as a bone but can’t wait to visit this place when a few showers would be bestowed in this area. A dam monitoring station and a small dam complete this isolated place which lies in the centre of the small valley created. Do not expect any nearby spots for tea or refreshments of any kind. Just before the area you will pass a suburb of Fujairah with local residents. Be respectful as it’s their quiet residential homes. Small vehicles may find it difficult to reach the place as you will encounter stony terrain...

The Dam is located behind the Hajar mountains in Fujariah… There are several places where you can Camp I went after the rain so had water every where on the way and behind the dam as well, where you can take your car but will need 4x4… There are no shops or resturants near by so come prepared and bring food along if you plan to stay… There is a local Suburb on the way which has a grocery store also be mindful of the noise when you are passing by… Over all was a good drive…Worth coming if you like outdoor camping and...

Beautiful and peaceful place for a family outing. We were lucky as water was there in the dam (28.12.19). The scenes with mountain, water were amazing and awesome. Driving down further will bring you to the Al Hayl Castle. Another beautiful place with basic amenities such as masjid and rest rooms. You can be assured of enjoying your day out. You will need to carry lighting arrangements if you plan to leave...
