Beautiful serene beach with fabulous view out to sea and the rolling Glen. Opposite Ballygally Hotel, which has wonderfully sculptured grounds to meander around. Car park across the road and a great shop for all your ice creams and treats. Popular with open water swimmers and paddle boarders . Lovely and relaxing, revitalising way to spend a glorious day. The sound of the waves, children's delighted , joyful laughter and the fine warm sand make it a special place in summer. Can be windy at other times. Read moreReally nice beach and if you are into surfing it can actually pick up a respectable longboard wave in the right swell. If you see a powerful long period North swell maxing out the North Coast (and all the North Coast beaches are too big) then there's a good chance that you will get rideable and less menacing waves here.
Don't recommend it as a surf spot for beginners due to how out of the way it is. But if you are experienced and catch it breaking. Give it a try!

Quite clean but could be cleaner. Gets very busy in warm weather. Parking limited at busy times and you have to cross a busy road from the parking area.
