Lovely area for a walk, there is a layby beside fir free parking otherwise the barden field owned by the Bolton Abbey land owners will charge a hefty £15. Its OK if you have a carful of kids as there are well maintained grasslands and walking paths, beautiful area and can also set up a BBQ here. It has outside toilet cubicles, which are always smelly, also has place to dispose of rubbish and water tap. Great area for walks, but just be aware of the steep car parking fee, they have a couple of wardens there in attendance until closure.

The bridge itself is rather narrow with a sharp bend to to get onto it.. a car scraped along as we walked past 🤷♂️.
Set off along the river and headed to desolation valley to see the waterfall with h was quite good then a circular route back. All very picturesque with lots of wildlife.

Read moreGreat relax beside Bardon Bridge. Three things to note. The large car park belongs to Bolton Abbey Estate and only open on weekends and Bank Holidays... So limited parking. The seagulls are busy eating the invasive signal crayfish and leaving their heads and claws all over the bank so watch out bare feet. Lastly, come on when did Yorkshire folk accept these outrageous ice-cream prices. Over three quid for a single blob on a come.....
