Wow!!

What a place..!!

If you want to enjoy a proper bowling alley experience as I know and used to enjoy as kid as opposed to the usual Lazerquest dominated “eat 14 burgers for a fiver” cobblers with 278 over entitled obnoxious “cherubs” causing mayhem everywhere because they can’t all win well THIS IS THE PLACE..!!

I hadn’t bowled for a good 18 years but decided to dig the old balls and gear out to see if I was still capable of a decent series and to see if the love was still there for the game…

I chose Barnsley Bowl as opposed to the other two sites in the town as it advertised a league and didn’t look like.. well.. Blackpool…🤔

I would like to post on here what an absolutely fabulous time I had from the minute I walked through the door, I sat watching the lanes for ten minutes to first to soak up the atmosphere, I then approached a gent at the counter, I explained my situation that I was having a go after 18 years and if he heard some swearing/cursing he was to ignore it and he may want to put me on the most distant lane possible…

I proceeded to bowl a game (140) and then the gent (Wayne) I spoke to earlier had watched me bowl and mentioned a few tweaks along with some suggestions and help with ball grip etc and wallop! 165 second game 186 third..!!

Anyway in short I couldn’t recommend Barnsley Bowl highly enough and I am going to join the league off the back of my visit to this fabulous...

I booked a birthday party for £8 and plus another game and as we went to play the first game straight away it started to crash boling plins were fall when it was reseting which made your points low and some players got 3/4 tries on there turn unlike some others got 1 also i bought some fizzy pop to drink while we play and staff we not happy they were saying we weren’t aloud to drink them since there not from them. Then when we when to eat two of my friends were halal and asked nicely if the pizza is halal and she went to check and got a manager saying “we have already told you non of are food is halal” when she only told us chicken nuggets were not halal thats it . So if your halal or vegetarian then you wont be able to eat anything since nothing suitable for you so they should vary there menu choices so it’s suitable for everyone. But if the staff was better then i would of enjoyed it but its quite cool lights when you play thats the only positive. Will not be...

It's a bowling alley, what can you say, the staff are friendly and helpful, the only thing that let it down in our visit was yhe clientele.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the lanes either side of us had young children on so we had to contend with lads kicking each other and the furniture to one side and kids walking across our lane as we were trying to bowl (at one point there was almost an incident where a young girl walked right behind one of our bowlers as they were on their backswing) add in to this the mums coming over to take photos and actually standing on our lane to get a photo of their little cherubs that up to that point they've had not interest in and you can see why it marred our experience a little.
