PAIN & SUFFERINGPAIN & SUFFERING
Last night 12/07/2025 we decided to have a takeaway meal from cumin for a birthday, we ordered multiple dishes, dansak x2, madras x1 korma x1, various rices, various naan breads Peshwari Naan, 3x Kemma naan. I forget the price but it came to about £40 The food was cooked well, hot in temperature and well packaged, We all started to enjoy our meal, That was until I started to choke on something extremely sharp and hard, lodged tight in my throat, I was choking for real at first I thought It was a coin, After what felt like a horrifying eternity but was likely only a little over a minute I was able to forcibly expel a powerful cough and thankfully dislodge the object which had been in my keema naan bread. It appears to be what looks like a sharp round concrete slither and some smaller pieces were found in my bread, I am thinking the breads maybe cooked in a type of clay oven and the bread was placed in for cooking on an area which had some loose concrete clay or whatever substance the breads are cooked on, or some loose debris somehow got onto into my bread from somewhere else. Obviously after that we all discarded our breads in fear of a repeat of a very distressing and frightening choking incident, We know for a fact this concrete like slither came from the naan bread as multiple smaller fragments were found inside the uneaten bread, I was able to stay calm and dislodge the foreign object myself that should not ever have been in my food in the first place. I suspect if cumin inspect the inside of the bread oven they will locate areas where chips have come loose and entered my bread. This is something they need to address immediately so this is never repeated ever again. I dread to think what could have happened if this were a child or if I was unable to dislodge the object, because it was very sharp edged it was digging in so hard I could not swallow it or expel it without great difficulty, I was completely blocked from breathing as this was not just a simple single piece of concrete in my throat but was surrounded obviously by keema naam bread I was eating at that time. This was not the ending we was looking for with this birthday meal, it was frightening, distressing, uncomfortable and obviously put us off eating at cumin any time soon, Please check your breads or oven cooked items carefully or chew a few times more than I did for safety sake. Sorry but I would be lying if I said this was not a 1 star experience and I absolutely hope myself or anyone else experiences this again.

We know for a fact this concrete like slither came from the naan bread as multiple smaller fragments were found inside the uneaten bread,

I was able to stay calm and dislodge the foreign object myself that should not ever have been in my food in the first place.

Very disappointing experience last night. Birthday takeaway planned with friends we checked the website it quoted 45m for pick up or 1h for delivery we opted for delivery. 2h later still no food despite a promise made on a call it would be with us in 10m in the end we message to cancel. They had by that time stopped taking calls so we ended up cobbling together fridge surprise not what we wanted for a birthday night in as we were sitting down to eat the delivery turned up, by now we were so disgusted with the situation we refused delivery. It’s really simple, just be honest if it’s 2h we will either wait or look elsewhere but be honest. Night ruined and no reply or apology I’m afraid you have lost...

Having been a regular user with no complaints, I find myself making one. Phoned tonight at 7.11pm, was told up to 1hr. That's ok, it's happened before. Now at 9.15pm, and numerous attempts to phone, with no answer. It is assumed that the meal will not turn up. So left message on the mobile number. Will not use Cumin again You'll never guess. 15mins after this review, my meal was delivered. So, please ignore previous comment above, as it is very very rare that the time has exceeded beyond that which is acceptable. Quality of the food was to the normal high standard. I did point out to the driver of the comments that had been put on here. So, the previous paragraph...
