In short: awful customer service, received full payment then asked for more money on order already placed; deceiving description: "unique-ness" when items are decorated around shop to charge more after receiving full payment; and poor follow-up.
My parents stopped here during their European travels in July and placed an order to be shipped to the states as a gift to me. After two months of no shipment, my mother reached out to check in on her order. The shop assistant manager claimed to have tried to contact us via phone and email several times (where I was the phone contact) "to no avail", but we never heard from them and actually had to chase down on our order!!
Now in this first communication of us trying to track the status, not only has it not shipped, but they are also raising the price of the artwork claiming it is soooo unique and difficult to make. These pieces were decorated around their shop when my parents visited (it even says on the invoice 'the five symbols we have scattered around the shop!!)!! The shop assistant manager said that he "hadn't charged enough" according to the artists and stained glass master. How ridiculous is this business transaction?!?! What's sad is that my trusting parents have already paid in full... Who knows if these people will refund their payment.
Wanted to warn all travelers to avoid avoid avoid!! Hopefully you don't have to go through this unacceptable...
Read moreWe stumbled across Bath Aqua Glass and were lucky enough to be allowed to watch the glass blowing. It was one of the highlights of the holiday, totally fascinating, seeing how an item is made between 3 different people seeing the ones that do make it and the ones that don't. You are so close as to be able to get a real understanding of the process. The goods on offer at the small shop that is with the studio are just beautiful and impossible to choose from, the selection by the Abbey is even bigger and the items are stunning! This is real artisan work, its good enough for the highest class stores in London and all over the world. If you want to take something back from Bath, that not only will look beautiful in your home, will support a small local business, has a reflection of Baths roman past and will be worth holding for generations, then buy a piece of unique glass from there. They offer everything from the smallest Christmas decoration to the largest vase, bowl etc. The people in the studio were also incredibly friendly and helpful, 5*' is...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I did the lover heart bauble. It was a fun and unusual experience and we left with a beautiful keepsake. The only thing I would say is that the staff don’t really know how to ‘put on a show’ if you see what I mean. They were all very lovely. It just needed something extra to make it more memorable and especially because of the price of some of the packages. Usually when you do these things you have a guide who chats a lot and maybe throws in a little joke here and there so I guess I’m just going of previous experience days but my opinion anyway. Still, a lovely time and recommended. Also, if you were wondering, the lovers heart bauble package consists of choosing a colour for the glass, blowing yours and your partners breath into the glass to fill it. (You have to stay behind the barriers and not go into the actual glass blowing area but you can still see everything). Then the experts mould it and shape it. You then leave it in the kiln for a day and either pay for delivery or go collect after the 24...
