It's a nice place where my daughter has had a lot of fun given only visited twice before. This time was slightly less of an experience than the last but I'd probably contribute thr peak times and lack of supervision of parents with their children to the experience for my daughter. Older children aren't watched by parents in the smaller baby and toddler areas and age limit doesn't seem to be enforced that much. An older child as a a result of being there and being frustrated that my 2 year old blocked the slide as she was unsure of going down, my partner tried assuring her it was okay to go down but I guess this child was frustrated and ended up hitting her purposely in the face in gront of my partner causing her to cry. Parents were nowhere to be seen and we had to flag down staff to tell them about what happened. They dealt with it well, but however parents still didn't supervise kids, I can't knock the place for this incident however it should be enforced more with staff if they notice older kids in areas with little ones especially if it states age ranges. Quite a bit of food items we wanted were low stock or sold out. All burgers were sold out, and donut bites were low. Unclean tables were building up as it was peak times, not sure if there's enough staff or what the reason was. The food is quite nice at thr place, especially the desserts and brownies they have, they're the best I've tried around here and I've been to specialised dessert restaurants here and they haven't compared. Hot drinks are a little expensive considering handcrafted drinks in a cafe/gym nearby are way cheaper at £2.40. Bathrooms are well maintained and seemed clean and hygienic, only been in once to change the baby. I asked about table service but the answer seemed sure but not willing as it was peak times and busy which I udnerstood, a note on tables on menus or the website should let parents know this will be the case, as its difficult if you gave one child playing and a baby with you without leaving your things unattended at the table and carrying hot drinks back, luckily I had my partner at the time but we were also divided with one supervising the little one in the toddler area and baby at our table. Overall its a bright, run and very active place. Just a few little doubts and niggles about aspects of the service and things that could improve for familes, but that also comes down to personal...
Read moreWe took our daughter to funda land for the first time today. First of all the 18months to 3 years play area had older kids playing in it. When my 20 month old daughter entered a little boy that was around 4 or 5 started pushing her over saying "get out baby" she stood in the Corner afraid to move or play so my partner had to go around all the tables to find the parents of this kid. He shouldn't have been in that area to begin with as he was to old. Then a little girl hit her when she started playing with the soft play cushions but ran away when she noticed us watching, but again nobody was watching her and no staff give any warnings either. Upsetting is an understatement. It's supposed to be a fun experience and safe place for babies to play. Then the very small ball pit that is made for babies was over took by 5 women so the babies had no room to play in it as they couldn't get in it. I understand you can play with and watch your kids but when there's no room for kids to actually get in, its a joke. Why wasn't they asked to sit on the side of the ball pit instead of in it? It's there for babies not adults to sit in having a mothers meeting. Moving on to the food it's really nice. However the coffees for £3.45 each should be a full cup and not half a cup! 2 mouthfuls and it's gone. The chef however was lovely he had a mix up with the order but rectified the issue and was very polite. The play area for kids is great when it's not over taken by fully grown women. I can't fault the cleanliness. Its a very clean place and one of the girls who worked there was quick to come out and clean the tables when customers left. If I was to go back it would probably be early in the morning so my child can actually...
Read moreWe've been a few times and I'd like to rate it higher but I do feel a few little improvements could be made.
Pros: Cheap place even during off term hours for little ones to go to. Secure entrance / exit. Cafe available with snacks, food and seating area with staff cleaning up regularly. Large play areas for older ones (although mine isnt in the age range to experience it) Slide, ballpit and blocks / shape puzzles and such to do for little ones.
Cons:
18month to 3 year old area isn't well supervised by staff for older ones jumping in and disrupting / being very chaotic. The first visit on a weekend they were more strict but weekday ones we've been more on have noticed (even with staff at reception desk) very little being done and other parents having to tell older ones to be more careful or ask them to go back to their own play area.
men's toilets are primarily without locks (all but 1 out of about 5) and most of the sink taps have some issues / non working for a few weeks.
Other:
Cleanliness - can't fault it on their part they are cleaning up after people leave the table, going around with a vacuum too, and do checks every half hour for cleanliness of toilets.
Staff are friendly though and when they were strict with the kids originally they directed them the correct way, so I just think more attention towards the area of the 18mo - 3 year old could be improved on.
There are usually under 18 month (very young ones), however I don't find this much of a problem as the blocks and such are a great thing for them but the ones that are in the 18 mo to 3 year parents are mainly with them too and the children are mindful of the younger ones, so it's a good little mix rather than...
