Pheasants Wood Fishery — Local services in Borough of Wyre

I rang Pheasant Wood to book a 4 nighter for me and my boys and spoke to the bailiff, I was completely honest about my situation, I was looking to book one peg with one bivvy and fish 3 rods, my boys would be with me who I have been introducing to carp fishing over the years but at 13 and 10 aren’t strong enough to cast accurately or tie rigs and would basically be reeling in any fish I had caught and flicking a few boilies out over my areas and basically getting a buzz for it to which he replied “ well their fishing aren’t they “. To which I replied well no I’m fishing they are coming along to learn and get out the house and when I take them to other places they are my guest and I might have to pay a guest fee for them to which he replied “ ye but they are fishing aren’t they “ so I continued so what you are telling me is that to fish 3 rods off one peg out of one bivvy like everyone else I have to pay full whack for my kids as well who are accompanying me and helping me out slightly? He said rules are rules and we left the conversation there, I won’t be attending on my own even though I came quite a lot when it was Crane Hall and loved the place. To expect someone to spend £300 for 4 nights fishing considering the circumstances, 3 rods, 1 bivvy, 1 peg is outrageous and not only that you are shooting yourself and the carp fishing industry in the foot by not ensuring the next generation are interested in fishing, I have no qualms in paying a guest fee and in the next year or two when they have their own gear and fish their own peg full whack but it won’t be at...

Positives Clubhouse The lady’s were left to it while everyone else went to France fishing. They did an absolutely fantastic job running the show and really looked after us all! Bonus needed!!! 5 stars lady’s!

Negatives: A lot of anglers said the exact same to us btw. The pegs were in bad shapes. Comparing to other fisheries they were very neglected! very muddy & boggy when it rained! (Needs new bark on them & levelling off. some pegs were on slopes & made it very slippy! mud went everywhere in your bivvy ect, just wasn’t a good experience covered in mud!

Been today for my first time as always something crops up when I’m planning to go. Well, from the start great fishery. Arrived at 8am set up by 8:45 after paying at the bar area. Started off on the method feeder and alternated between this and the pellet waggle and it did not disappoint, first two hours had 12 skimmers at a decent stamp. Ended the day with over 25,(lost count then) Had plenty of carp up to 9lb ,(9 I think) chub, rudd, barbel, bream. Can’t thank the bailiffs who covered tactics of how it’s been fishing and bait wise.
