Beautiful mountain with a great cairn at the summit, the bottom part coming from High Spy is a cherished picture, the immediate area around Dale Head Tarn - with the waterfall and stream crossing is a thing of pure beauty, further enhanced by the dramatic views of High Spy etc. Would recommend visiting Dale Head as a full hike from Catbells, coming along Maiden Moor, High Spy and then from Dales Head Tarn up to Dales Head then descending from Hindscarthe or Robinson (I personally descended from Hindscarthe which was a great experience in itself). Really Recommend this mountain and the entire Newlands Valley circuit of...

At 753 m (2470') or thereabouts, Dale Head gives panoramic views of the Northern Lake District. It's one of my favourite climbs from the Newlands Valley via Dale Head Tarn or from Far Tongue Gill up and over Dale Head Crags.

It can be climbed from Honister up Yew Crag, I've never done that route as it looks a bit of a continuous slog from reading the gradient on the map - 390 m (1280') :-( The views will be...

This is my favourite walk in the Lake District it's not the easiest but it is really enjoyable and the views from the top are spectacular. The best thing about it is the sence of achievement and well being I get from it. I cannot recommend this walk highly enough, it's not easy and at times it is a bit of a steep walk but ultimately it is a fantastic way to spend a day in one of the country's most...

Good god this place is AMAZING! We took a 6 hour hike through the wilderness and it did not disappoint. We were absoukltely exhausted by the end, but so glad we did it. We saw amazing views, tons of sheep and got some amazing photos. Word of the wise though: most phones turn themselves off when it's really windy and cold, so take an actual camera if you want guaranteed good photos.
