From conwy dorection, it's a steep drive up to the Rowan Youth Hostal, where we parked. Follow the farm track up on foot until you see low white cottages on your right. Turn right in the direction of the pedestrian footpath signand walk up the hill. You may need to climb over a stone wall to continue up.

To go back to the youth hostel in a circular route, walk diagonally (east) down, staying to the left of the dry stone walls. You may need to go through a disused sheep pen and a couple of farm gates to get back to the rocky path back...

As a moderately sized mountain, I can't fault it. If you're just expecting a rocky ridge, you'll be surprised. Also, the lower slopes are packed with neolithic wonders - two burial chambers, two standing stones. There's also a little hill fort at the end and close to that of the beautiful...

Great walk up Tal y fan from the small village of Rowen, not loads of parking, be ready for the 25% incline on one of the roads. Approx 1 hr 15 min to reach the peak, nice easy route back down. Great part of snowdonia to explore and definitely avoids any queues. ...

Quite small if you drive to the car park in Bwlch y deufaen but views are good on a clear day. Had quite a lot of bees around the trig point, but that's just nature doing its thing.

Quite small if you drive to the car park in Bwlch y deufaen but views are good on a clear day. Had quite a lot of bees around the trig point, but that's just nature doing its thing.
