Read moreSecond highest hill in Leicestershire at 814 feet above sea level. An easy walk to the top for most people, especially if you park at the upper car park near the summit. Some of the best views you'll see for the little effort required. On clear days you'll see Loughborough just below, Nottingham, Lincoln and the Cathedral, Boston Stump, Leicester, the Peak District, Bradgate Park, East Midlands Airport and much more. Its fun watching the distance planes coming towards the airport and the small vehicles on the M1. I've been to the top on bonfire night and it looked like a mini nuclear war going off all over the place in the distance. The views are good anytime, but exceptionally good in Autumn and also Winter when snowing, as it looks like a white fairy land for miles. There are some wooden seats at the top where you can relax and you'll see a lot of bird life here. A good hill and day out for familys and kids if supervised well. You have to pay for parking, but there are toilets in the upper carpark and sometimes an ice cream van...

If not, they should really consider it though. Loved the fact that the picnic benches all had their own BBQ area too, which would be...
