How do you rate a wood... It has parking , a lot of lovely paths.. squirrel s and toilets next to a play and picnic area in the middle of the wood, in summer an ice-cream van normally parks up. We went to a private event organised by the wood rangers. The kids were taught to make shelters and also cooked over open fires making popcorn, nachos and cheese and marshmallows the shelters were tested with a bucket of water and a leaf blower to simulate a hurricane which was hilarious. Lovely in Autumn but take care when tree roots/ stumps can be covered with leaves. Options to extend the walk onto a former pit stack over the railway line. Children's play area.
