Had a last minute getaway to the Ploughman's shepherds hut for our anniversary after our other stay fell through and ended up with something even better. One of the most unique stays I've ever experienced. Very cosy but well equipped with everything you need to switch off for a relaxing weekend. The hut itself is immaculately refurbished, and is exceptionally liveable. Hosts had provided us with wood for the fire, milk, eggs, teas, coffees, marshmallows for toasting and even baked a home made cake for us! We overlooked the expansive views of the valley and the neighbouring farms. We also enjoyed cooking over the open firepit. The local pub is 20min walk (Marquis of Granby) and serves up some delicious food. While you're also surrounded by the great fish and chip shops of Folkestone and Dover! For our first night we collected from D'Agostini's which is an 8min drive but they also deliver to the local area.

Loved it so much! We stayed in Shepherd’s Watch hut and it was a really lux: hot water, wood burning stove and comfy furnishings. We ordered a breakfast hamper that was lovingly prepared and delivered the night before. This is a fantastic area for walking and rambling, and thanks to the maps left in our hut we were able to explore some of the surrounding ancient woodlands. There is no shop near by so bring your supplies (wine and crisps) with you and if you’re cycling be prepared to ride up some pretty high gradients.

A great little farm that is quiet and green with a few of the usual farm animals around. The accommodation is to a very high standard and you are suprised the second you walk through the door. The cabin/coach has been fitted out to 5 star level and the wood burner does a great job. Well worth the money and I would highly recommend it for a peaceful break for the weekend. Wendy is very accommodating.

I should have posted this review a long time ago. My wife and I were lucky enough to spend our wedding night in Shepherd's Rest, one of the amazing Shepherds huts available at Greenhill. The hut was comfortable and brilliantly laid out, with everything we could have needed, and more. The views were amazing, and Neil and Wendy are amazing hosts. I really can't rate it highly enough. The site has everything you need for a fantastic countryside break, yet it's close enough to major transport links that you could enjoy a day in one of the local towns, before retreating for a relaxing evening. Stop thinking about it, and get booking....
