York Golf Range — Local services in Earswick

Been a couple of times. Nice layout with a couple of interesting par 4s but greens are embarrassing for what they charge, dry and overgrown and difficult to differentiate green from fareway. There seems to be little to no maintenance carried out and nothing is being watered. On top of this, I've seen dog mess on the third tee both occasions I've played there. 8 pounds to hire junior clubs. 34 pounds to play 9 holes for myself and one child on father's day. No club sharing policy to maintain pace of play when I spent a good hour being held up by a group of 3 who couldn't hit the ball 20 yards. This course is terrible value for money. Drive up the road another 30 minutes and visit Snainton family course. They could learn a thing or two about course maintenance and...

Wonderful little test of golf.

A couple of long holes that require a driver/3 wood , tidy greens and an intelligent layout that can tempt a good hit.

Certainly not expensive and combined with the driving range, a perfect day to perfect some of your game.

Surprisingly well stocked little shop with full sets, plenty of wedge options, clothing and shoes and accessories. Well priced and all hosted by friendly staff, too.

Some snacks, machine coffees and a range of flavoured teas complete the trip. A nice place that I'll be back to visit again. And again...

My friend and I have visited the driving range many times and always feel welcome even with our lack of experience and skill. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the prices are great and the hot drinks are yummy! If you’re new to golf and not sure where to try, I’d totally recommend this place. Whilst most visitors are highly skilled, don’t let that put you off as if you’re new and looking for somewhere to practice this is great.
