âš Always check the tide times before going on the Briggâš  Absolutely love Filey Brigg, we never tire of it. Head out Spring / Summer and you will most definitely find a range of crabs, fish and other sea life creatures. Make sure you have your crabbing bucket and net! Lots and lots of rock pools to discover and explore - you will not be disappointed. There are no public conveniences on the the beach or the Brigg, but there are plenty in Filey. The Brigg can be accessed from the beach at the Cobble Landing End of Filey. If you are feeling fit enough once you have exhausted the Brigg, climb the cliff path and walk across the top of the cliffs for stunning views. The path takes you back to the Country...

A narrow headland jutting out eastwards into the North Sea, from the north end of Filey bay. Base is hard gritstone but the top is weak, crumbling boulder clay and there are frequent landslides and rock falls. There is a large car park at Filey Country Park and a good path out to the end of the cliff. Great views north towards Scarborough and Ravenscar and south to Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head. The path down to the shore platform is steep, muddy and slippery if it has been wet, so be very careful after rain. You can also get out to the end by walking along the beach from by the sailing club. WARNING, be very careful to check the tide times, as this route gets cut off about 90 minutes...

This land extension juts into the North Sea like a huge fossilized limb, indeed local legend states that it is the bone of a drowned giant dragon which once terrorised local communities!! It's 20 metre high sandstone and limestone cliffs offered perfect surveillance options for an ancient Roman Watchtower Signal Station and remnants of pottery have been discovered during archaeological excavations. Popular with fishermen taking advantage of seasonal cod and mackerel stocks and offshore divers exploring stricken vessels sunk off this at times hazardous stretch of coast. A splendid destiny for an adventurous rambling day out, though visitors should be aware of...

Beautiful sunny day (still cold though). Nice stroll into Filey and then along the Brigg. If we would've had time we would've walked onto Scarborough and taken the train or bus back. Another day maybe.
