I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Green Gable and Great Gable walk in the Lake District! We started at the Farmer's car park, which was easily accessible and had plenty of space for our vehicle.

The walk began with a scrambling section, which was a great way to get the heart rate up and challenge ourselves. The route took us through some rugged terrain, with plenty of climbs over rocks and uneven ground. The views were absolutely stunning, and we were rewarded with breathtaking vistas of Buttermere lake in the distance.

After tackling the scrambling section, we reached Green Gable, which was an incredible viewpoint. We stopped to take in the views and enjoy the scenery before deciding whether to head back down to the car park or continue on to Great Gable.

For those who are new to hiking, I would say that this walk is definitely more challenging than some of the other routes in the area. However, it's still accessible to experienced walkers who are looking for a fun and rewarding adventure. The scenery is truly stunning, and the sense of accomplishment you'll feel when you reach the top is unbeatable.

Myself and a friend both did the hike from Seathwaite straight up Base Brown following the waterfall, after that its a nice gradual walk up to Green Gable, down windy gap and up to Great Gable. We then went down the more popular way to the tarn and back to Seathwaite.

Great walk, took about 5 hours, could be done quicker but took it easy even though we where passing quite a lot of other people so give an extra hour or two if you think you're on the slower side or like more photo stops/rests.

Great views from the top (providing its not foggy on top) especially of the wast water lake. Not the easiest but also not the hardest, easier and harder routes so choose wisely and make sure you think about the best way round to go if you're doing a circular. Their are parts where you have to scramble which is much easier going than down e.g. windy gap to great gable. Worth going up and having a look.

For those who do not hike usually: Check met office weather for the mountain, remember to tell someone at home where you're going, route and expected time to return. Check in if you...

Absolutely stunning. The views from great gable on a clear day are mind blowing. It's a well located mountain for views all around on a clear day. Route up isn't to bad with a well created mountain path from the national Trust. My route was from Seathwaite, which has limited parking on a grass verge by the main bridge. There is a working farm at the end of this road which has a camp site and toilets for the public to use. Please keep the roads and farm access points clear when parking your car. There are gates around this area for the farmer to access their fields and blocking them is easily enough done when parking runs out. Please help to keep the access points clear for the...
