The final part of the ridge walk that started on Red Pike, continued over High Stile and ends at Scarths gap inbetween The Seat & Haystacks (Wainwrights & my favorite). This part of the ridge undulates with some impressive views of Pillar, the Scawfell range & the Gables with a summit that is in itself unatractive & the descent down to the dip before The Seat is (in my thoughts) easier going down (as path is basically scree).. with the final walk over The Seat to Scarth's gap... (then a choice of continuing over Haystacks to Honister or heading back down to either Gatesgarth...

Brilliant views of the surrounding area including particularly good views of Haystacks, Fleetwith Pike and Pillar. It is a bit of a technical path off to the east which is more of a scree than a path, making for a challenging descent. According to OS maps there is a path which goes off the main path that cuts across to Scarth Gap, but we could see no evidence off it, despite crossing it a couple of times. It's clearly lost to the...
