A cross between Easter Island and a nature reserve with breathtaking views across Scarborough Castle to the North Sea. Despite poor signage the walk up the hill from the cinder track near the cemetery is rewarded with a beautiful view of Scarborough Town, the castle and the North Sea. We went at sunset, the light highlighting the statues magically. Why the statues are there I don't know as there are no information boards. However the semi circle of Easter Island faces looking over Scarborough to the sea is somehow both reassuring and mystical. Well...
