It is a subsidiary top of Rampsgill Head, but has long achieved the status of a separate fell, thanks to its classic peaked profile. Wainwright followed this convention in his Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells.

Took around 1.10h to walk up from a free car park (gets full fast on a beautiful day), faster to come down as it's just going downhill. Couple of places with short scrambling, but either wise it is an easy walk. The path is very clear, hard to miss. The views...
