Hello, I am writing this review as it is important to let people know that this isnt a safe place to go. ESPECIALLY as a woman. Ive been attending for two years as i love everything horror but two years in a row something has happened to me. In 2024, I was grabbed and sexually assaulted by one of the pirates in cutthroat. I didnt know who he was but he was wearing a white long sleave top with a blue vest top. I didnt think much of it at the time as it was one time thing and I hoped that the same thing wouldnt happen this year. BUT IT DID. This year I was very excited to try out the new psychotorium maze as ive heard nothing but good things but when I went through I was again sexually assaulted, this time by a different actor. He had a ponytail and glasses but that is all I could make out. I dont think it is okay that this so called "best scare attraction in the uk" is failing to do background checks on their actors because the assaults I have now endured has caused a trauma that shouldnt have happened. If i was you i wouldnt spend your moeny just to be sexually assaulted. I hope these actors are removed and jailed. Not only am i very traumatised from this, but i am also really upset with a specific change. My FAVOURITE character last year was Humpfrey the teddy bear in dollhouse. The actress who was in the teddy bear costume was hilarious but also so incredibly sweet. She had scared me and then took her head off and made some brilliant bear themed jokes. She even made my partner get on his knees and crawl out of a catflap but during this accidently stepped on my toe and she was so apologetic even though that wasnt what you would expect. Now the reason i am bringing this up is i was told my favourite character was back but when i went into the maze I was dissappointed. Not only was Humfrey being controlled by two people, but they where arguing about what to do with character and you could see them in the costume. I understand that the other actress might not of being able to return this year but they have ruined a fan favourite character. If you cant get that actress back you should get rid of Humpfrey as no one is better than she was. You couldnt even tell she was in the bear until she moved and then took her head off. After the traumatic even of my assault I thought seeing humpfrey qould atleast make me smile but I dont think Ive ever had such an upset face in my life. I am so happy I didnt pay for my ticket as I am close friends with one of the actors which meant I was able to attend VIP night, but I wish I never accepted that ticket. (I am also not going to disclose who this actor is I dont want to risk them being fired).I am sorry that this seems like I rant but I am very annoyed about the let...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall I was pleased with the event. I went with a friend of mine but if I return I will go as a foursome.
Arrival - we arrived at 17:25 and there was a slight queue but we entered within 10 minutes. There is plenty of parking.
Footwear - the ground was dry but gravelled and uneven. I wore walking boots and had no issues. I saw someone cleaning their trainers so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
Attractions - overall they were pretty decent. The ONLY gripe about them I had was the amount of people that were being processed through and how quickly. If you're going through some of the mazes in a group of more than 4 if you're at the end unfortunately there is very little shock value as you can see what has happened. This was also the case when our group would catch up to the group ahead. This happened A LOT and was annoying at times. The event management perhaps need to either limit the amount of people admitted or allow for extra time between groups. It's no fun otherwise.
Food/drinks - as expected with any event. I personally had no issues there was a slight wait at the bar but nothing excessive. You can't pay for food on card and have to buy tokens. This isn't an issue as any tokens that are not used are just handed in and you're given the cash back.
VIP - we opted for VIP. You got 1 free drink [valued up to £5] per VIP ticket and queue jumping which when you see the size of the queues was worth it! I'd personally recommend this for the price difference especially when you consider you're getting a free drink [most drinks are priced £4-5 anyway]. You're SUPPOSED to get a free shirt however my friend and I were told the venue had ran out of VIP shirts. I've contacted the venue after to see what they are going to do about this so will update this review as and when they respond.
Entertainment - there is entertainment running every 45 minutes [a short magic show, which was decent enough, and then a fire breathing show, again not bad to watch.
Overall I'd recommend going however if you're reading this in a twosome I'd personally ask another couple [or 3 people] to come as you'll only be coupled with another couple [or group of 3-5 people] and going through with strangers isn't particularly great given how close you're squeezed together at times.
Will go back again. Waiting to hear from the venue about the shirt issue but aside from...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePrepare for a full night of queuing to not get much done unless you get vip pass.
Arrived and ques to get in wernt too bad. We then headed straight to the crawl space attraction to book a slot. After about 20 minutes (mebies longer) of waiting it was announced it was full.(would of been handy if a member of staff atleast counted people who were queuing to let them know they wouldn't get a slot) however wasting time in a que was the theme of the night!
Spent up to 60 minutes queing for some of the attractions (others had 80 minute wait times on the app) to be let down with either just walking round some empty areas where nothing happened/no actors there or to not be scared at all.
Whilst your queuing you have to listen to everyone else twisting about how long the ques are which also ruins any vibe which existed. However we also got some good Intel from others on what attractions to avoid such as the pirate themed one and doll house. (All feedback was the same were not much happens in alot of sections or there's a lack of actors or it's not scary.
We managed to get 4 attractions complete and have a super quick bite to eat. Pretty pittiful. No time to enjoy any of the shows or have a drink.
Darkness was an absolute let down.it was basically just put a semi opaque bag over your head follow a rope whilst some actors stroke your leg and whisper the odd things in your ear. This was the longest que time as well for us at 60 minutes.
psycotorium was alright. Nothing scary but it was a good experience.
Isolation was abit scary but just felt awkward. (It was funny seeing what people had done to them at the end of it or being humiliated by the pig people)
Vandalised... where to start. Trying not to sound like a old man here but the van ride was stupidly over the top. People inside the vans were litteraly in pain and getting hurt from getting piledrived into the bulkheads or rear doors from the other passengers sat in the van. Wasn't fun nor scary. The walking section of this attraction was the same as others where not much happened.
roughly 30mins before closing we headed to iscream attraction (this had been good the previous year we done it) although for some reason they had closed early even though nobody was left in the que line. So we just left at that point.
Hate to leave a bad review but it was honestly not worth it and abit...
