Probably one of our most favourite beaches along this coast. Itâs normally fairly quiet. The wood fired pizza is to die for and the water is lovely. (Always check the safer seas and rivers for any dumping in the area) The beach is privately owned so despite it not allowing dogs during the summer season itâs not well signed and people do anyway! There is no one there to police this and this can get frustrating. We have a dog we just use others beaches when sheâs with us! The parking is ÂŁ6 for a whole day this can be cash or card. Lots of people use this beach for paddle boarding so take care where you âbob aboutâ or swim as most donât check for swimmers. The water is fairly cold as itâs a pebble beach and there is a shelf in the water so suddenly gets deep, keep an eye on kiddies. Beach shoes are recommended unless youâre happy to look like youâre trying to do some sort of dance when âwalkingâ back to your towel. đ Oh and the anchor pub has the most wonderful food. We went for an evening meal if you havenât booked you probably wouldnât get a table inside. We sat out and enjoyed the...
Read moreSeatown beach in Dorset is a quiet, hidden gem that's great for a relaxing day. It's a shingle beach, not sandy, and is a great spot for hunting for fossils. The beach has a classic pub right next to it, The Anchor Inn, which is known for its food and great views. There are also public toilets and a place to get drinks and snacks. For those who love walking, the beach is the start of some amazing coastal paths. It's also right next to Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast of England, which you can hike for incredible views. While the water can have a strong undertow and there are no lifeguards, it's still a nice place to relax, have a picnic, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It's a bit of a secret spot, so it's usually not as crowded as...
