The Needles are a great way to pass a few hours/ a day. The chairlift to the beach is pretty damned impressive, unfortunately the boats weren't running (-but do you want to be on a boat in rough weather?) we loved the sweet making demonstration, our daughter enjoyed the rides, there's mini golf, a 4d cinema, glass blowing demonstrations, shopping, some good walks, a fantastic Santa Claus at Christmas, the friendliest fox I've ever seen and, of course, the Needles themselves. But do your research. The weather and season is going to play a big part in your experience, you can check the website or call ahead to check what's on. If there's a howling gale blowing, then the chairlift and boat out to the Needles are probably not going to be running, but then would you want to be on a chairlift in a storm? If the tide's right in, you might not be allowed to get off at the bottom of the lift, so whilst it's a fantastic ride down, it's something to be aware of. Over winter they shut the lift down too, we found out after we turned up last year. But we should've checked. The prices are reasonable enough, however you'll need £5 in cash on you for the all day parking as the car park doesn't take cards although parking was free when we went later in the year. A lovely day with some spectacular views and experiences, just take the weather...
Read moreCame here as I was in the Isle of Wight for a week, as it was close to the sea it was very cold so I would recommend you wrap up and keep warm. When we entered there was a lot of things to do and shops to visit, I payed the mini gold there which was a good laugh for the family then I went to the cafe and had something to eat although it was overpriced for what it was then we went to a sweet shop that was filled with lots of old time sweets. Before I went down to the sea front I went into a 4D cinema to watch a short film that had us moving about with 3D pictures, water and bubbles I would really recommend that people take their children there as it was a really different experience. After I looked at all the attractions we went on the chair lift and went down to the sea front to see the needles which was a ride in itself although the small fee to get a return down there was definitely worth it as the views were amazing and the infamous coloured rock can be seen although it is taped off for safety. You can walk down there but it’s a very long journey. I will be visiting again as it was really...
Read moreCar park que was crazily long and took ages, due to one person in booth taking the payment, which at £6 all day sounds good but you park on the most uneven ground EVER (my little new fiesta bottomed out twice on large mounds) and you will only be there for around 3 hours. Boat rides looked good and reasonably priced (£7 adult slow boat ride around the Needles for 20 minutes.) not sure how much fast boat was. Cable chairs was £8 each return, which lasted minutes and they are as old as the bloody Needles themselves (would advise walking down and cable car back for £4 each.) Gift shop was reasonable priced, glass shop amazing but sand shop sucked ! If it wasn't for the bad and long parking experience it would have been a nice day out. £6 is just a rip off. Worth seeing the beach area as different coloured sands and amazing clear water was...
