Superb hidden gem mostly kept under lock and key by the army range which own it. When the lulworth ranges are open this bay is open via access from tyneham village. Beautiful views and warm inviting seas are coupled by outstanding chalk cliffs and the south coast path.

Getting there: some difficulty, have to be honest, it’s an extremely narrow single track lane to tyneham village which was abandoned to the army during the 2nd world war. Well signposted and easily found on sat navs.

Lulworth ranges: this is only accessible when the lulworth army range is open. This is most weekends and every day during August but do check on the website. Live firing can take place with sudden warning and it really is live firing. There is also no access to the bay from boats when it is closed.

Facilities: toilets in tyneham village, no cafe.

Parking: plentiful in tyneham requires a £2 donation in the honesty box which is monitored.

Good: beautiful views and an immensely rewarding private bay follows a 1 mile walk from the village. Great for swimming and exploring.

Bad: very narrow windy road to get there and it’s a 1 mile walk to the bay which is fairly easy but could be tricky for those unfit.

Fact: keep an eye whilst walking to the bay for the army reserve which has some interesting focal points across the fields including tanks and old railway access points. When you get to the bottom bear right to the bay, alternatively bear left for another...

Beautiful Jurassic Coast bay. Ideal for walking (with or without dogs), picnics, photography and generally enjoying nature. The beach is pebbles and not ideal for swimming. The easiest way to access is to park at Tyneham and walk to the beach. About 20 to 30 mins. It is a little steep and rough for the...

Beautiful secret beach, stunning views with blue sea and impressive cliff sides. Large white boulders with a bit of sand but mostly shingle. Downside was the only toilets were a mile away in Tyneham village (which were spotlessly clean) and obviously nowhere to buy snacks or drinks either so pack...

Excellent views of the bay, the walk to get here is from the car park which about 45min away, but it’s mostly flat, so it’s an easy walk. But the views once you get to Worbarrow are wonderful with either side continuing the SW coastal path. Must visit for sure

Great place to visit. We have been here a few times now. You can get some great views if you walk up to the top of the hills. Kids enjoy climbing over the rocks & skimming some stones in the sea.
