Great walk. We started in the National Trust car park ( free for members), and then we walked all the way up. Some places were steep, but the rest was ok. When we got to the to, the views were fantastic. It helps where it was a lovely sunny day like we had. It took us 3 hours to get up and 2 to get down. All in all, it was a fantastic day.

Parked at Miterdale forest car park park Great walk taking the path to Burnmoor Tarn, then a steep walk up the Illgill Head, then along the grassy top to Whin Rigg, before descending through Miterdale forest Done during a claggy day, so not great views but still an exhilarating walk
