I went to the osprey hide having heard good reviews on it and been told that the osprey were frequently fishing from the pond at least 3 times. Unfortunately the osprey on that day were not very active only one unexpected visit so fast I couldn’t get any good photos after that it never showed up again all in all a very disappointing session which left me feeling very disappointed and very disillusioned after a 3 hour long journey there and a 3 hour long journey home with nothing to show for it. Read moreAs far as I know it’s a unique proposition - a trout farm with a photographic hide set up to allow Osprey to be photographed fishing. It’s relatively expensive, but realistically priced for what it offers. The hide is unheated and shaded so bring warm clothes. Tripods are not recommended. On the day we visited, no Ospreys fished but we did have a red kite come down for a dead fish and spend hours watching Grey Heron dive-bomb fish. Kingfishers also visit but not during our stay. Read moreThe hide setup is very good. Lots of space for each photographer. Having the spotters calling in the visits from the Osprey and other birds was great, as it gave you time to get ready, as the visits can be quick. We had 2 visits from the same Osprey, first at 05:30, the next at 08:15. Two Herons fishing in between, so this was a fairly good session. However it's wildlife photography, so no gaureentee of anything. You book the hide and take your chances. However seeing an Osprey up close taking a fish is just a fantastic...
