Beautiful location and views. Car park close by requires coin only payment. We went there to watch the sunset and wait for nightfall. Forgot the insect repellent - massive mistake, took 5 minutes and we were swarmed by midges. I got bit quite a lot and we had to retreat to the car. We watched the first stars start to appear and it was great, kids loved it. We weren’t staying the night and were heading back to Gateshead. I’m a reasonably confident driver and used to driving country roads in darkness, but these were challenging - lots of tight bends, blind dips, and steep terrain.
