We DID used to come here regularly and had been doing so for the past three years - until about two months ago. The chippy changed hands when rhe previous owners moved back to Portugal earlier this year, and sadly, its previously very high standards have fallen. It's no longer the stand-out chippy in the area for value for money. The first change we noticed were the battered sausages. They used to be excellent, but there was obviously a change in suppliers, and the new ones are not nice. Hard to describe the taste - but certainly not nice, and certainly not very 'sausage', and an odd texture. We decided that as we loved this chippy, we'd go with the change. However, very shortly afterwards, to our dismay, the 'small' chip portion that was PLENTY for 2 people, disappeared. Worse still, when we got our meal home and dished it up, the 'medium' chip portion (obviously significantly more expensive than the now non-existent 'small') was much SMALLER than the old small. Just ABOUT enough for one person and certainly by no stretch of the imagination enough for two. So we've reluctantly stopped using this chippy and gone back to...

What a plaice!!! I have found this gluten free fish and chips shop which cooks separately from other foods, now my son can enjoy fish and chips again. Absolutely amazing taste and very good value for money. It will be on my frequently used favourite food takeouts. Please support this shop as there are not many if any that cook separately.
