This executive lounge used to be quite good before the extention. I recently visited this new 51 lounge to find that its now split into two lounges. One for business class only and the other for all 'pay per entry' customers. I was refused entry to the business class lounge even though I was travelling Vueling business class. Was told its only for Qatar airways business class!?
The major gripe with this change is that they have no private bathrooms for the guests in the pay per entry section, so you have to walk out of the lounge and around to the general airport bathrooms which sometimes have a queue and are not the cleanest.
There are virtually no windows in the new extention. Its more like a cafe than an executive lounge with uncomfortable seating and hardly any sofas.
The food offering is basic. When I was there, I was not offered any hot food. There were some welsh cakes, peanuts, crips and pan au chocolat to choose from.
There is a bean to cup coffee machine and some soft drinks to take for yourself in the fridge. If you want alcoholic drinks then you need to wait to be served at the small bar area.
Its dissapointing to see as I want Cardiff Airport to succeed, but the management don't seem to have a clue about whats important to the clients. Poor quality and choice are driving people away. I fly regularly for business and living in Cardiff, I would select Bristol airport over...
Read moreDreadful attitude and service. Arrived at 5.53pm on 30th August to be told that lounge was shut. Despite guests still having drinks. They refused to offer any soft drinks/ even water, crisps or fruit. Other guests complained that they arrived at 5.15pm to be told the kitchen is shut. Other guests commented they had to knock on kitchen door to order food and were told they had to be quick in ordering ! Complained and asked to speak to duty manager who had gone home! Both staff members Josie and Maisie were dreadful and shocking on client service. As I pay for this service perhaps they should consider who are paying towards their wages. Coaching and development of staff in customer service should be a priority. I would not recommend using this lounge 1 star 🌟 is too generous. Finally opening times of lounge need to be revised. Opening at 3.30am ? how many flights are at this time of day as I beleive 1st flights usually around 6am closing time of lounge at 6pm is useless for travelling guests on later flights. Call this an Executive Lounge is far from its name sake. I travel extensively and this is the worst Executive lounge...
Read moreIf, a lounge that has no atmosphere, no business facilities, a minimum number of magazines and newspapers and serves only welsh cakes, crisps and soup and water and soft drinks from a dispenser is what you want this one is perfect (notwithstanding the many security cameras). I think the majority of people want a cosy, friendly place to relax that serves a wide selection of hot and cold food (as does every other lounge I have visited in Europe in the past year) and a plentiful supply of reading material. Those who give this lounge 5* are clearly not visting the same lounge as I am (and I am refering to both the Qatar Lounge and the standard one). I have complained several times to those in charge but nothing happens.
PS They have now stopped their co-operation with...
