One of those reviews where one star is too generous. Myself and my friends have held back with our review as the issues we faced on the day of our arrival were rectified and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, in the morning, on the day of our arrival, there was confusion over how many people we booked for. Upon arrival, there was already someone's belongings in our lodge. Whilst this was rectified, we were met with attitude and the owners seemed to be more interested in their prior engagement. In addition, we were left with dirty nappies in the bin and dirty dishes in the sink. The Lodge itself was nice and the location is great; not too far out of the way and close to local amenities.
Honestly, my friends and I were willing to turn a blind eye to the issues we faced, but then the argument over the damage deposit started. How very disappointing it was to be accused of having extra people stay at the lodge. The argument was that because we had an extra person, we had to pay extra. So, even though we paid nearly £400.00 for the Lodge, you're wanting us to pay an extra £55.00 as we should have had a bigger Lodge? Unjustified nonsense. In the end, this was returned, but we left the lodge in immaculate condition, we faced negative issues at the start of our stay and yet you have audacity to withhold part of the damage deposit? I hope you learn from this experience; don't fix issues for customers which were created by your mismanagement and then create more problems! If anything, a partial refund should have been offered, never mind you taking more money from us. Unfortunately, I am sickened by the way the booking has been handled.
