Visited this week with my friend and both our 5 y/o daughters and 6 month old sons. We were asked if we’d like to collect the painted figures in a few days or on the day, we opted for on the day. I have visited previously and the figures were collected once painted so that they could be added to the kiln in time for leaving. This didn’t happen, therefore, I had to ask for this to be done which then meant a long wait at the end. The girls were getting restless and running around so while we waited, I took them to look at some figures which had already been painted, we were picking them up to see the pretty paint, I then had to take a phone call, next thing a staff member approached the girls, taking the figures from their hands saying “don’t touch them they belong to other people”. Both girls were clearly startled, heads down, didn’t know where to look. We collected our figures and left. Upon leaving I spoke to the staff member, suggesting that she speak to children in a different manner, she apologised saying it had been “one of those days”. The girls are then outside crying because of how they’d been spoken to when the owner approaches me and thinks that this is a good time to call into question my parenting! Telling me that as a parent it’s my responsibility to “keep my child in check”!! She then started to say “as a parent you…” I stopped her before she went any further and suggested she think carefully about what she was going to say, she walked away. She also advised that the girls were banging the figures together which most certainly wasn’t happening before I took my 31 second call, and, if it had, is still no reason to speak to children in that way. A point that the owner was clearly not willing to take on board. (1) How dare anyone call into question an individuals parenting, especially when they know nothing of them (2) Why are customers’ figures sitting out for anyone to see/touch? They should be in a cupboard or at the very least behind glass. The owner’s attitude was disgraceful and it goes without saying that I’ll...
Read moreWe decided to nip across on a whim and see if we could get it.
It was a last-minute decision, and we weren't too bothered if we were told that it was too busy.
It does suggest on the website that you phone to book, but walk-ins are welcome, although may not be accommodated.
I have a bit of a fear of phoning people. I would much prefer to book online.
When we arrived, it was difficult to get parked, as it was in an industrial space.
Then, as we were checking if they had space for us, we were pretty much reprimanded for not booking in advance and made to feel a bit awkward.
Pottery was average in price. You have a couple of choices, either acrylic where you can take away on the day or paint that needs to be baked. We chose to take away on the day.
Sat for a bit before the paint was brought over. Kinda thought they had forgotten about us. Some of the tubs of paint were empty, and I had to ask for replacements a few times.
Had a small selection of food, but I wasn't sure if food could be eaten at the table you were painting at and didn't want to ask.
There was a small softplay type area for younger kids, too.
I think you got a...
Read moreI had such a fun time here with my colleagues! I even discovered my crooked hand-painting skills—which clearly shows I’m no Picasso—but that was part of the joy. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and patient, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s also a family-friendly place where you can bring children along; they’ll be entertained while you explore your creativity. And if you get hungry, don’t forget to grab a bite or a drink from the counter—perfect for recharging before continuing your...
