Happy Haddock — Local services in Great Britain

Pulled into the lay-by at happy haddock today to take a break from a long drive back from York instantly opened up the car door and the smell was like we was back at the seaside, so tempting, we ended up going, with a lovely greeting and great customer service and a nice chat with the staff to honestly been served the best two medium fish and chips me and my partner have had in years! And even a lovely children's meal and drink that my daughter loved! Definitely recommend going and we cannot wait to...

Turned up on Friday at 13:23 as we was walking to the door the owner saw us and started shutting the shutters. The place advertises it's open until 13:30! On a Friday! I'll never use this place again.

I'd have accepted if owner spoke to us and said sorry lads but to see us walking up before closing and just shut to the shutters? Maybe advertise opening hours correctly and stick to them. If you want to be packed up and cleaned up by 13:30 then advertise you are shutting 15 minutes before actual...

We drove past this place on the way to our holiday cottage and went back to get some food once we got settled in. Food was lovely and freshly cooked and we will certainly be back when next in York. Fish was beautifully cooked and the chips were really good. Cash only so had to pop to the services 5 minutes down the road and use the cash point so take cash when going Lovely to see locals in there too and great to see a chip shop offering...
