Booked into one of the small pods for a night to try it out. What a brilliant experience! ||The view outside your front door over the Duddon estuary and mountains of the SW Lake District Hills is superb. Ideal for your early morning coffee or your sunset beer. ||Loved the chickens and the goats (you can even buy food for them at the honesty shop). ||You have your own private WC and shower, which is very clean and to a good standard, with a communal washing up area outside. ||There is a little honesty shop for emergency essentials and treats. This has a refrigerator cabinet with an area for campers to store their own things.||The pod type I was in has a futon, TV, kettle and toaster which were ideal for me. The larger pods are even better equipped (see website). All pods have a picnic table and fire pit outside and are well-spaced for a sense of privacy. ||The only suggestion I would make is for a little side table or shelf by the futon to put your bits and bobs on. ||It's only a five minute drive to Dalton with its shops and takeaways (some of which deliver to the site - see the information folder). ||There's also a very good pub ten minutes walk on foot (though be aware, it's a steep-ish walk back to the site: Take care on the road and bring a torch just in case!). ||Will definitely...

The facilities in the pods was just above and beyond the pods we have previously stayed in and for very little difference in cost! The running water, the kettle, mini fridge and microwave made the camping experience so much more enjoyable, especially when staying with 2 young children. The fact that we had our own personal shower and toilet room was also such a luxury. There was no pressure to be in and out quickly, like in a shared block, and it provided a place to leave toiletries and towels, freeing up space in the pod. Such a great idea!
The views were out of this world - we were very lucky to get a week of sunny weather meaning we got to see four gorgeous sunsets over the sea.
In addition to all of this, our girls just loved the goats and chickens roaming about the place. The baby goats were so entertaining and they loved feeding them. They were actually quote sad to leave them on the Friday when we left!
Farmer Phil was also very friendly and happy to help where he could. The cleanliness of the place was super too :)
We will be...

There is an honesty shop with all the basic stuff you would need. You have your own fure pit. Your own outside seating area with your own picnic table.
