I originally stumbled upon Lydcott Glamping through Airbnb but went straight to their website to find out more. I noticed they provided a special occasion package so I got in contact with them to arrange an engagement and had a wonderful call with Emma who described in detail the service they provide, as well as recommendations for dinner and things to do around the area. Emma kept in contact and always answered any questions I had throughout the weeks leading up to the occasion. I felt in safe hands knowing all the little details would be taken care of. On arrival, the cabin was perfectly clean, spacious and light. We had ordered cream tea for our arrival which we had before heading out for dinner. We had a little trouble locking the door but Rich was quick to come and fix it for us! Whilst we were away for dinner, Rich so kindly set up for the planned proposal on our return. Fairy lights, Prosecco, fire pit and decorations; everything looked perfect and gave us a proposal to remember! We woke to the sound of chickens the next morning as well as a beautiful sunrise overlooking the sea. After a nice day out in Looe we returned for the evening. Despite the weather being quite cold outside, the cabin was extremely comfortable and warm! We had an amazing weekend, one that we will never forget. Emma and Rich made everything so perfect with all the little touches and we can't thank you both enough. We will definitely be returning one day for our wedding anniversary!

A Magical Family Retreat at Lydcott Glamping Our family recently returned to Lydcott Glamping, and it was another unforgettable experience! Having first visited a few years ago, we made so many cherished memories that we couldn’t resist coming back. Each visit to Lydcott seems to add more wonderful moments to our family album, and this time was no exception. Our children had a fantastic time, especially our son, who adored the chickens. He’s been talking about them non-stop since we got home! The joy and curiosity on his face as he interacted with the animals was priceless. What truly sets Lydcott apart is the hospitality of the owners. They are incredibly friendly and genuinely go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect. Their personal touch and willingness to accommodate every need make the experience feel like a home away from home. The glamping experience here is truly at another level. The luxurious yet cozy accommodations provide the perfect balance of comfort and adventure, allowing us to unwind and enjoy nature while still having all the amenities we need. We can’t wait to return to Lydcott Glamping and create even more beautiful memories. It’s a special place that has captured our hearts, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable getaway.

This place was a treasure and I am so happy to have found it. Our lodge was beautiful and comfortable. It had everything we needed including heating for the cold April nights with two young children, a beautiful little bathroom with a hot shower, a stove, fridge and freezer, and the most beautiful large arched window that I am now trying to figure out how to have in my life permanently. It really puts the glam into glamping without being too flashy. It’s nordic in feel. The site very peaceful, you are woken up by the (very beefy) chickens and neighbouring cows every morning. It has a beautiful view that stretches all the way to the sea. You can get bags for firewood for the fire pit for bit extra. Good location for seeing both coastal towns like Plymouth, Looe as well as further into Cornwall like Eden Project and Newquay. I highly recommend adding on the breakfast hamper and the cream tea hamper because Emma is an amazing baker and the bread is some of the best I’ve had.

We’re incredibly disappointed with our experience with Lydcott Glamping, booked through Airbnb. The host has basically admitted that she cancelled our booking in order to preserve her perfect review record. A few days before the start of the booking, we discovered that the photos on the Airbnb listing were for a different property and not the one that we would be staying in - so we contacted the host to ask for some clarification as to where we would actually be staying. After having to chase them for a response almost two days later (their Airbnb response time is listed as 1 hour), they confirmed that the photos on the Airbnb listing were not of the property we had actually booked and offered to give us a small refund as compensation because we absolutely didn’t want to cancel the booking and were still very much looking forward to coming. Then suddenly, two days before we were supposed to be arriving, the host cancelled our booking and said they had given the accommodation to someone on the waiting list instead. We asked them very kindly to reconsider, since we still very much wanted to come, and we even said we would pay the full amount without any compensatory refund - but they simply refused to deal with us further. To say that we are disappointed is an understatement. They talk about guest satisfaction being important to them and have fantastic reviews but they effectively punished us for a mistake that they made with false advertising on their Airbnb listing

UPDATE FOLLOWING HOST’S RESPONSE: The host’s account below is further evidence of her attempts to preserve her review scores by trying to present us as the party in the wrong and denying us a stay at her accommodation - she even stated in her cancellation message that “our reputation and reviews are too important to us” The insinuation that we were simply looking for a ‘freebie’, or an excuse to complain / demand a refund, is incredibly unfair and just further evidence of the poor customer service we’ve received from Emma following this issue - an issue created by her false listing of the property. As we do with all Airbnb bookings, we had reviewed all of the photos in the listing in detail and made a decision to come and stay based on the location of the glamping pod and the design of the pod with the smaller windows which afford more privacy - we therefore didn’t think that is was unreasonable to feel a little misled (though we very kindly told the host that we understood it was unintentional). As I said in my original review, we had reached an agreement about the compensatory refund, we had agreed to come and see the cabin (as she asked us to do) before accepting the one night’s cost which she had offered to refund us if we weren’t happy with the cabin when we got there, and the host said “appreciate your position, and I would feel confused too, but would love it if you could judge on your experience here. We very much look forward to welcoming you”. That was the last message she sent us before cancelling the booking - so we really have no idea what happened between that end of a very polite conversation and the cancellation message she sent us the next day. We were fully expecting to come and be perfectly satisfied with the accommodation, and had no intention of writing anything other than a fair review of what would undoubtedly be high quality...

Some times you have to try something different........and it turns out absolutely fabulous !

We were looking for a holiday to celebrate my wife (liz) 60th birthday and spend time with the extending family including our grand kids.

Liz said what about glamping..... I mean posh glamping with a proper loo and shower and loads of outdoor space - In Cornwall.

We then looked into it. Three individual pods of varying sizes - One for us and one each for our families - Son in Laws, Daughters and grandchildren. The pods are wells stocked of utensils, fridge, hob, microwave, comfy beds, fluffy towels, individual barbecues and spotlessly clean

It was fantastic, we each had our own space. We organised our own breakfasts and lunch but came together and combined resources for our evening meal. Brilliant !

I was so laid back I even went to the local pub in Hessenford and filled a 4 pint beer carrier of real ale and offered it to my son-in-laws to share...... completely out of character !

The whole experience was 'out of this world', something different, not sure on the way down to Cornwall, but YES it was great. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The warmth and care that Emma and Rich put in shows the effort they have made in this opportunity for everyone - Well done to them for such a great experience.

We will be back and maybe now at 62 its time to get out of my boring comfort zone...

Try it at Lydcott Glamping - I can now see how Emma and Rich have deservedly won their...
