Be aware the burger king closes at 10pm. The Costa is all night and there's a machine. The Costa staff are exceptionally lovely. I am there 2x a week and no matter who is on shift, they're just lovely.

The WHSmith is absolutely extortionate as with all services. The petrol station on site is a Spar and Subway. If you need food late in the evening you will find better prices there for chocolate and snacks and a much bigger range.

There is also a Greggs on site with a fair selection. It closes fairly early so evening travellers only have the option of the Smiths or the Costa. There is also a travel lodge on site.

The disabled toilet here is operated by radar key. If you do not have yours the nice people at the Smiths will loan one. Ask at the desk. If you need wheelchair access do not use the main car park*

As you come down the slip road into the services there is a very small sign for disabled access parking on your right immediately after the HGV/Bus turn. That's where the main/flat access wheelchair entrance is.

The disabled toilet is either sparking or fetid. There is no inbetween. Friday when we used it...sparkling. The following Sunday it was absolutely vile and I had to take my son into the ladies and hope it was empty. This happens fairly regularly here. The cleaner deserves hazard pay for constantly returning this loo to a pristine state to be fair. Just hope they've been in when you visit as you will not get a chair into any cubicle in the ladies they are some of the tiniest on the planet. There isn't a double wide on the end as in some toilets. I can't comment on...

I was returning from a break away in London. .. and stopped at these services . I called into Wh Smith and a lady named Dorothy who was a " customer service assistant " was just walking past me to pick something up for a customer she had to walk past me twice so I said politely " excuse me " then again as she ignored me & clearly heard me I said " I only want to ask a quick question of what services this is " she didn't even turn her face too smile or to acknowledge me but she had enough time to say as she walked back " I'm busy I'm serving a customer !" It would have taken less time to say " Hi :) Cardiff West " Simple. Instead rudeness from a " customer service assistant" on top of a fantastic weekend away is just sad. Sad because staff at your services either can make people's journey/holiday happy or change their journeys for the worst. .... Dorothy you need to turn your head & smile if someone speaks to you. Plus your employers definately need to look at your customer service training because your badge is a mockery of what you did today . I did tell Dorothy as I waited patiently after this happened in the queue to ASK HER a question of what services I was at... that I would be reviewing this experience. It was quite embarrassing tbh as others in the queue noticed her rudeness toward me as they were on my coach also. I would give 1 star for her. But I'm not mean so I'll give 2 stars as the Cardiff West services minus her customer service...

Basic service station, not as big as others but has everything you would need; toilets, costa coffee, wh smiths, burger king and a greggs. Toilets were ok, not the cleanest and half of the toilets in the mens seem to have been blocked. Wasn't that busy when I visited, but it seems as if it could handle a rush if a coach were to come. Large carpark that is free for two hours.

Nice clean toilets, plenty of parking spaces and the Costa is good! While we was there we popped into the burger king and l was awful! They had nothing I wanted so I ended up buying somthing I didn't like at an absolute extortionate price, and the staff didn't seem to care one bit. Tables were dirty and floors were a mess and it was quiet there so no excuse!
